This is a great invention! My 5 month old yorkie took to it very quickly with little training. She did not like puppy pads and it was impossible to get her to use them. I did place a used puppy pad from her crate under the grass mat when I first got it so that she could smell her scent. She took to it very quickly for peeing. It took a little longer for her to consistently poop on it. However once I made sure to reward her immediately when she pooped on it she started to figure it out. We work long hours somedays and so I keep it in the house still for her to use even though she is almost a year old now and she uses it no problem. I place the puppy pads under the grass pad for easier clean up. I will say the downside to them is that the grass starts smelling unbearably like other people say and pretty quickly too. No matter how much I hosed it off and cleaned it with soap and bleach-and dryed it in the sun for a few days. Since then I have bought other fake grass from the hardware store and i just use the tray that this came with and it has lasted much longer as far as not smelling. (The grass is cheaper to replace too).

I buy these often. I would have 2 in use for my dog and one new one. I put a pee pad down and place the grass directly on top. I know these grass pads have some kind of holder and drain system which is fine but I have a Chihuahua. As a pup there is no way her little trickle of pee would not show using the system. The pee pad under it seems to draw some of the moisture out of the grass pads. Most pee pads now turn the liquid to gel so a wet pee pad is not going to keep the grass pad wet. These “wash” pretty good and probably would last a year rotating pads every 2 weeks. I soaked them in Mr Clean or Lysol. I would rinse and hang on a hanger with clamps to dry. You can use spray cleaner and hose them off. I use bleach sometimes too. It says not to but I rinse them well and have had no problem. You can travel with these easily. I put the grass pad in a large trash bag when we were on the go. They have dog litter pans now. I bought one for travel. I put that down then the pee pad then the grass. The dog pan stopped any mistakes or possible overflow. None ever got on the carpet or floor.

These work very well. My dog loves them. I was surprised @ how easily they wash & especially how well they dry when hung outside. I expected them to hold water like crazy & be hard to spin dry in the washer as well as take forever to dry when hung out. But they did better than bluejeans on both counts! They can take a complete corner to corner, end to end soaking by my dog & still not drip when picked up for cleaning. The paper pee pads always dripped or even worse so I had to immediately toss them into a bag or something before carrying them to the trash. The backing on these cloth pads have not shown any cracking or peeling from the washer as of yet either & appears to be well made backing (feels like a tough textured vinyl). I did notice that after washing the 1st time that the cloth top pilled a lot & it’s not quilted across the top like human bed pads are. So I had a feeling the top fabric would fall apart rather quickly w/ washings. But after more washings, it’s not gotten any worse & seems to be just fine. Expect pilling w/ the initial wash but don’t fret that your purchase was a bad one. If my washer isn’t making them worse, they’re made well because mine were washed in a compact automatic washer that has small agitator fins that are VERY ROUGH ON FABRICS!!! These are holding up great & doing a fantastic job for my dog & she loves them! I’ve since stopped worrying that they will fall apart & very glad I made the switch from paper doggy pee pads for my dog. I may still keep some paper ones on hand if it’s too rainy to hang them outside to dry because I don’t want them in my dryer, but I regularly hang other things out throughout winter & things do dry just fine even in the cold. I just can’t feel if they’re dry or just cold, so leave them out from morning to before dark to be sure. Once folded & inside, they warm up & I can tell they are always dry. These doggy pee pads were a good decision for me! They function much better than paper ones, save me money, & amazingly don’t stink up the house. BTW, I do keep a $3 plastic reach tool nearby for the occasional turd removal.

I work and live alone, so pup is penned while I am gone. I chose this potty pad to relate the potty with going on grass, as opposed to approving going in the house. It worked well and I was satisfied with it for several months.Now, he has begun digging and pulling the grass pad off which results in a mess. The two measly clips really don't so much in the way of securing the patch on there. As much as I dont want to, I will have to resort to a different one which is locked in more like a picture frame.

Purchased this as it's almost fall and I can't be buying dog diapers all the time. The doggy pads are great clipped onto this product. My dog used it within 10 seconds of placing it on my balcony. The fit is tight to set up but I like a product made like a glove. It's a good size quality.

very easy to clean and easy to maintain. I actually put a pee pad underneath the grass to help as well with easy clean up, the only problem is that grass at the corners are not secured enough so have to use mini clamps to secure it to the base

Works great! I have a couple of these to swap when washing.
