They're easier to use than my old pair as the columns are rasied and locked in place by a pawl mechanism, rather than pinned through a hole. They're also more stable with a four-sided square base, rather than a three-sided base. My only criticism would be some of the welds are not as good as they could be, which is why I knocked off a star. However, I'm still confident they'll do the job up to 3 tons for a DIY home garage.
