Canon PIXMA TR160 Color Wireless Portable Printer

I bought this printer because I needed something compact and easy to take with me, and it has exceeded my expectations. It’s lightweight, doesn’t take up much space, and the wireless setup was quick and straightforward. The print quality is sharp for both documents and color pages, and the 50-sheet paper tray is very convenient for a portable printer. The display makes it easy to check settings and monitor the printer without any hassle. Overall, this is an excellent portable printer for working from home, traveling, or printing on the go. It’s reliable, easy to use, and delivers great print quality. I would definitely recommend it.

Just what I needed. A printer that doesn't hog up space on my worktable. Bluetooth connection works fine, setup is easy and it prints in a timely fashion. Would recommend going to Canon's website and following the instructions there. The only difficulty I have had so far is that the printer does not recognize certain printing formats on my laptop computer, but that is likely a computer problem and not a result of the printer itself (the jury is still out on this). I purchased a battery for the printer, which is sold separately, and now I can take it anywhere I go. The overall size of the item is nice and portable. Just keep in mind that this printer does not scan. It is print only.

I love this printer. We’ve had the TR150 (older model) for home and travel. It’s a great size for traveling, has really good quality and performs well. Printing photos aren’t perfect but acceptable to our large Brother office printer.

This is my first printer in a while and I just needed something basic to keep on the desk at home. My last printer was an iX6820 which I adored for art printing so I have tempered my expectations for this TR-160. First off: props to Canon for having USB-C on a printer. Finally. Connecting the printer to Wi-Fi for AirPrint was a bit of a hassle, but I did get it working. If you're having trouble and using a Mac, try this: download Canon's print utility from their website and run through the setup using that app without a USB cable connected to the printer. If it doesn't work the first time, check to see if the printer is listed as a Wi-Fi point in the Mac's System Settings > Wi-Fi tab. Connect to it from there, then switch back to your regular Wi-Fi, and try setting up through the app again. From the few documents I've printed so far, true black text looks really crisp on plain 64gsm paper. I'm going to give this printer a reluctant 4 stars since I have not used it extensively yet. I'll report back after some time has passed and I've messed with it more. It seems to have a nice set of options for printing photos and several photo papers are listed in the driver, so I will definitely be trying that out. Also want to see how it handles thicker paper like bristol.

LOVE this printer. It was exactly what I needed. The images printed are so crisp and clear and the color is beautiful.. It actually prints better than my big Brother printer. This was such a great investment. It's so easy to travel with too!!!!!

The feature that I like the best about this particular portable printer is the fact you can buy a battery pack for it and use it remotely without having it plugged into the wall. The battery can be charged by plugging the unit into the wall directly but it can be operated without a power cord as long as you have the battery. Colors work pretty good black cartridge works really good and they're cheap enough to buy and you can replace them pretty quickly and easily. Print quality is nice doesn't excellent job and doesn't use a tremendous amount of Ink on each print job but still looks good. There are carrying cases that allow you to carry it around and they don't take up a lot of space. It's easy to store needs to carry although it is a bit weighty but not as heavy as a large size printer would be. Wireless connectivity is easy to set up both on the front panel and with software. When I set mine up I use the front panel to set up the wireless and it connected pretty quickly to my mobile router. All in all this is the printer I would recommend if you need something portable and small enough to be able to carry around with you on an everyday use. I could see this being used by business people as well as people living in RVs like I do as easy to travel with and can easily be used to print out stuff on the go or were spaces at a premium.

Excellent quality and fast for color printing. Bought it to take on the road for work. Not too heavy or large. Uses actual paper not that thermal stuff.

tl;dr: No instructions. PITA set up. Terrible picture printing quality. I bought this little printer to replace a big, hunking printer that had finally given up its will to live. I don't print often, and I don't print much; usually just official B&W forms that need to be signed my hand, so I didn't need anything fancy or with printing super powers and I wanted something with as small a footprint as possible. This little printer fit the bill. It didn't come with any instructions, and the QR code led to directions that consisted of basically "plug in, print!" Which was entirely insufficient. I managed to connect it to my phone and printed a simple document with no problems. Then it directed me to download two different canon print apps and it never worked again. I went through all the troubleshooting I could find online, and it refused to connect to my phone. Not via WiFi, and not directly. Finally, I deleted the Canon print apps, and reset the printer completely. Then I added my WiFi manually, with the MAC address and password; it connected! And 'found' the printer with my phone's default print service. And was finally able to print again. I printed a couple of pictures for my child, and the print quality of the pictures is absolutely terrible. The colours are nothing like the picture I was printing, and there are distinct visible lines over the whole thing. I've attached photos of the original picture (bright green grass, grey squirrel) and what printed (dark yellowy haze with lines). This is the quality I would expect from a cheap no-name printer, not from one of the leading printer brands and it wasn't exactly what I'd call cheap. For my usual limited expected use, it should be fine, but I couldn't recommend this to anyone who would want to print anything more than a few pages of B&W forms every now and then. And definitely not for anyone who wants to print any pictures, or is not able to troubleshoot connectivity with no instructions. It is small, so not taking up much space is definitely a plus to me. Buy this if you want to pay too much for a small, really basic, poor quality printer, with no support.

I received the printer pretty quickly through PRIME service. The printer came in the US plug, so need to use a adapter which is expected. The printer size is just right for my small apartment and the print quality is good. Thank you for the good offer Amazon!

Expensive but great for travel and prints very well.
