Review: Oh this RULES. Game changer for my multi-cat household. - I bought this because I was tired of scrubbing cat barf out of the carpet and the furniture with paper towels and woolite spray. We have an older, bigger Bissell that's the big rolling kind, like a stand-up vacuum cleaner, and it still does a good job shampooing our carpets a few times a year, but it's no good with the little details, and it's just way too much trouble to deploy for a single barf. This works well on recent pet crimes. I also managed to drag about 90% of this years-old coffee stain out of it this morning in about 10 minutes, which I honestly did not expect to work. I figured that was there forever and maybe I could improve it a little, but nope. A true testament to the power of this little machine! The only thing I have not tested it on yet is set-in cat pee-- I'll probably update my review when I get a chance to tackle that. BEST feature is the Stain Trapper Tool, which is a detachable head for the hose that keeps everything you suck up in a mini-tank that's easier to empty, so you don't have to deal with trying to rinse something really gross out of the bigger, more unwieldy tank. Much more convenient for small messes that you want to deal with quickly. You'll have to stop and empty it every couple of minutes, but I just kept a bucket next to me for that. It has a generously long cord, the carry handle feels sturdy, and it's simple to use. Everything is labeled. If I have one criticism, it's the design of the water/shampoo tank. It's not flat, so you can't easily set it in the sink to fill it, it kinda just tips over and it's hard to see the fill line, especially in a white ceramic sink. That's the hardest part of using it, and it's not like it's super arduous so I'm not even knocking off points! I highly recommend this model! Especially if you can snag a "cosmetically damaged" one at a deep discount like I did. ;) Either way, it's worth the money. I'm already trying to loan it to friends just so they can experience the joy of stain-lifting.

I used to wipe with an old towel and then use a brush and water to clean the carpet. And periodically use an upright carpet cleaner to wash the carpets. Then clean the upright which is a hassle. I now use this carpet cleaner which does a much better job. It aspirates the vomit or urine. Then soaks the area with the water-diluted cleaning solution and aspirates it while you scrub with the brush. It leaves the area clean and almost completely dry. And afterwards, it is so easy to clean the device.

**Q: Many people say there is a defect were the hose meets the handle And it breaks does  anyone know if bissel corrected this problem? Or do they give you**
A: Absolutely yes man, it happens. I went through 2 bissell spot cleaners in less than a few months because of this exact issue. I run a mobile auto detailing business and have to deal with tough stains. First time bissell support sent me a brand new unit because there is no replacement piece which was cool, but it broke again same place within another month or two. Not lucky enough to get a third I now went to try the nearest vacuum repair shop 42 miles from my house that they tried to tell me to go to the first time. Vacuum shop said they couldn’t fix it or if they did it would just break shortly after again. Long explanation short, if you are worried about the handle breaking where the hose meets, yes it happens often I have watched numerous videos now recounting the same thing. I love bissell and own so many of their products but this one falls short.

**Q: The water containers seem hard to empty out fully - not well designed.  Is anyone having problems with that?**
A: Yes! I was absolutely having issues emptying the dirty water tank. You can remove the plastic tank from the machine. There was a video that showed how to remove a section of that tank in order to open it up fully. I can't post the link here, but I hope this description helps. Take the dirty water tank off the machine. Then take the purple handle and move it up and over the tank. It will stick at the top and will look like it cannot go further, however, keep pressing gently but firmly and the handle will "give" slightly to allow it to go well over the top fo the tank, in almost a 180 degree change from where it was before. Now you can scoop your fingers under the top section and lift it off. You can see where the plastic looks like it will separate. Once separated, you can set the tank in the sink and clean both sides freely. I was afraid to push it over the top since it naturally stops there, but it does go over.

**Q: What is the difference between Bissell 2458 and 3624 spot cleaning machines?**
A: According to manufacturer specs I've seen on Amazon and other sites, they're the same thing with different tools and cleaning solution. Same amps for engine (5.7), same H20 capacity (96 oz), looks like the same hose length (5' for both, though one site I saw said 2458 is 4', while another I saw said 3624 is 4', so definitely check this yourself out if it matters to you). 

A few external reviews say the 2458 has very slightly better suction, but I'm guessing it's because they tested its standard attachment (about 3" tool) against the 3624 standard attachment (about 6" tool)-- smaller aperture hence better suction. It appears that the 3624 comes with an additional tool similar or the same as the 2458 standard tool. The 2458 model includes the tool that isolates whatever you're cleaning up to keep it from getting in the machine. 

Bissell says that for each 2458 sold they donate $10 or some such. Judging from the pricing I'm seeing, they're getting that back by charging more for the pet model. But the prices fluctuate. I caved and bought the 2458 because my kitty has been vomiting a lot and the 3624 is temporarily out of stock. I'm paying a good bit more to get the stains up asap, but I'm intrigued by the attachment and we want our rug back.

**Q: Is there a way to clean the brush head from gunk stuck in it?**
A: Yes, try suctioning up a small amount of water from a bowl to clean the brush head and hose of any debris or dirt. Hope this helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Critical Review with update

UPDATE - I was mistaken. This does not have wheels. My apologies! I’ve been thinking about buying this for a long time. I finally pulled the trigger, so I thought I would take the time to list my thoughts. 1. Yes, it works. I’m trying to get a few more years out of my furniture & I know there are some hot spots from my pups. I clean it by hand when I find them, but I know the smell is there. Over the years, the fabric has hardened (likely from cleaning agents) but the odor lingers for the dogs. I followed the instructions and worked on my chair. As you can see in the pictures, it definitely pulls the dirt/residue/hair out. The fabric is visibly cleaner and much softer. 2. One run is probably not enough if the fabric is dirty enough. I let my chair dry overnight, but woke to the smell of urine. It’s going to take several rounds of cleaning, but I’m very hopeful & pleased. 3. Yes, it leaks (as described by other users) - if they are talking about in the clean tank or somewhere else. Honestly, I don’t know how it couldn’t. If you look in the first picture (clean tank), you can see the mechanism. It’s similar to a Shark steamer - you turn the tank upside down, it fits in the machine, and a few dribbles of water comes out. I don’t see why that’s a big deal: maybe it is & I’m unaware; maybe they are talking about something else. 4. It creates a lot of condensation around the items you are cleaning. For instance, I was cleaning a chair. I had a ton of water on my floor. Make sure you put down some towels. I should have known better. 5. Like some other reviewers reported, my brush did look used, but it was clean so I chatted with Bissell. According to the customer service rep, they sporadically test their brushes before sending them out. Do I believe that? No. Do I think my brush was used? The more I think about it, I think it is probably lower quality and was poorly packaged. 6. I think the brushes are low quality and will replacing before your machine. 7. Cleaning your device - make sure you clean the filters, hose, and crevices. I found a lot of dog hair tucked away. I have a feeling if you don’t, your machine will stop working sooner rather than later. 8. Amazon’s warranty - don’t purchase. When I initially asked about my brush, Amazon sent me to Bissell (so no help). And when I went to Bissell, I realized Bissell offers a free two year warranty. 9. Enzymatic cleaners - it comes with two sample bottles of cleaners. You only need 2mL/96oz H2O. 96oz of water is a large amount. I cleaned for 1.5 hours and still have nearly 1/2 of the clean water left. I bought the extra bottles, but I don’t think I will need them for some time. Overall thoughts - I debated between this version and the little green machine. I opted for this one because it was only $20-$30 more, offered super suction, and held 96oz. I also think I this one is on wheels and the other isn’t. I like the super suction, but I definitely don’t need the 96oz. The only reason I’m removing a star is I’m sure I will have to replace the brushes. Great buy and I should have purchased sooner. For those of you on the fence, rest a little easier knowing Bissell offers the 2-year warranty. Go for it.
