MAMMOTION YUKA mini YUKA LUBA mini AWD LUBA 2 AWD X Review: Great mower that has given me back my weekends! - Overall this mower definitely beat my expectations. Pre-purchase: Was looking at robotic mowers for a few years. The gaps were always the same - couldn’t handle shaded yards or you needed to lay a wire. I was not going to lay a wire for a 1.6 acre yard. No thanks. Saw that the Luba2 could handle the shade using AI vision. Excited for the solution, but VERY skeptical. Mower Arrival: My plan was to get this going as soon as I could, believing that it probably wouldn’t work in my yard. There was a 30 day return clock ticking, so needed to figure it out pretty quickly. Assembly: Came packaged very well and with simple instructions. Took me about a 1/2 hour to assemble. I didn’t have a lot of time that first day, so I just thought I’d get it set up outside and make it move. Anchored the GPS and docking station. Phone App: Teaching the mower where to go and not go was very easy. I didn’t have much time, but ended up getting it done in my short time frame. I do not know why the app gets such a low score in the ITunes Store. It’s not the best app in the world, but I found it fairly easy to use and not many glitches. Mowing: Split my lawn into 4 sections. It does a great job with the lawn! It is going around while I am working during the day. I only need to do any trimming and weed whacking. I make it go manually each time, because I worry about a UPS or desertcart truck coming in the driveway and hitting it. I have spent very little time mowing this year! Mowing Quality: It can take a very long time to mow compared to other methods. The width is small, so it takes a long time. It has to recharge in the middle of my largest section, so that can take most of the day. Just need to understand that and do not expect it to be quick. The mower makes very nice lines in the yard. They are very close together, so something to be aware of if you are used to wide lines. You can adjust the mowing height in the app and have it move diagonally or other options each time you mow. My neighbors have commented several times on how nice of a job it does. My wife is happy, because the yard “is always mowed”. I have it mow about 2 times per 10 days or so. Leaves: The mower does not handle leaves well, so be prepared for other ways to handle. I knew this going into the purchase, so I was not disappointed. I usually mulch my leaves, so I still mow manually when the leaves are coming down to get them chopped up. Maintenance: The blades are basically razor blades. They have lasted most of the mowing year with a need to change. Also looks like it just uses one side, so I should be able to flip the blades around and not have to replace them yet. Other than that, just need to keep it clean. Pretty easy to clean it. If you do not clean the charging connection, then at some point it will not charge. Long term: This is the first mowing year, so we will see how it acts next Spring after being in storage all winter. Will update this review as needed. Review: Robot Mowing with Lenny - For specific specs, please visit the manufacturer's website. We purchased the Luba 2 3000H model after a medical incident caused by mowing on a hillside. We chose this brand and model because of other reviews and videos on YouTube, specifically this model, since it can cut grass up to 4 inches high and can handle our hillside. Thus far, this mower has exceeded our expectations regarding mowing quality, ease of use, and function. The programming of the yard was the hardest task, and this was easily accomplished and many of the common problems are already documented on their website. In reviewing the specs for each model of mower, we chose the one capable of cutting taller grass up to 3.9 inches and sized for our lot. It is set for 3 inches, and the cut is uniform and level. The two cutting disks do, at times, need to be cleaned out due to grass cuttings that may clump up on the underside. This is nothing that occurs frequently and is similar to our old gas engine mower deck. Also, Luba can not cut wet grass very well. Again, it is no different from our gas-powered mower. The mower is very quiet, and while it could run at night, we prefer to limit the operation to during the daytime. The mower will cut leaves and small twigs but not branches. When it gets stuck, it will shut down and notify you for rescue. You must rescue Luba from wherever they got stuck and allow Luba to continue from the breakpoint. The mower will return on its own when necessary for charging and pick up where it left off. The FPV or First Person Viewer allows you to view the mower as it moves through the yard while cutting grass - Awesome tool to assess issues when it gets stuck. Now, some drawbacks: -No-go zones must be set up. This is easy, but it may take you a few times to set up if you need to leave sufficient space or want to edit to get closer to the area's border. Price. Well, for us, it was cheaper than riding or zero-turn, but we got cool points from fellow neighbors. -It may chew up grass in front of the docking station as it spins to line up. It may also chew the grass around no-go zones if it is set on zero-spin rather than multi-point turns. I hope this helps.

Almost Perfect!
I was originally disappointed with the Luba 2 and I was real concerned with some of the reviews of their customer service. I believe that all of my concerns have been put to rest. I had some real concerns over battery life and the unit constantly disconnecting from the GPS. I was able to solve all the disconnection issues with location changes and with their customer service. They were very responsive either by chat or by email. My concern with the battery was also addressed by their customer service. Luke was very responsive and worked to solve the problem. Eventually, it was decided that the wrong unit may have been sent and it was dealt with immediately (although there was a little confusion on return and replacement, the CS has been great to deal with). Programming of the unit is where you will be able to head off any problems. Although I think that the manual could do a better job at helping the user program, I was able to play with the features and was able to test some different map programming. Understanding the unit's limitations in small compact areas with a lot of obstacles will help in avoiding some frustration. I still have some tweaking to do but I think with work, it will be perfect. The features of the unit are extremely impressive. It mows straight lines (if desired) and will give that coveted stripped lawn look. The unit traverses difficult terrain without any problems. I am really glad that I worked through the difficulty of tweaking the setup. You can quickly set up the unit and it will do a decent job but if you put a little thought into the setup, I believe you will be impressed. I look forward to future enhancements like lawn writing that are said to be upcoming. I will caution that the battery life, even on my new unit, is a little misleading in their cut sheets. It claims to be able to mow for 3 hours. It also claims that it can mow .15 acres per hour. Although I am now getting about 2 1/2 hours of battery life, it can not conserve battery and mow the .15 acre/hour. The claims are based on a perfect condition and it probably will not be reached in a yard with any slope, obstacles, or any length on the grass being mowed. With this being said, if you cut your yard into manageable sections or are willing to understand that the unit will return to its charging base, the final outcome is awesome! The bottom line is that the unit and its features are outstanding and the company has been very responsive and seems to be continually looking for improvements for new and EXISTING units. If you have any techie ability, the difficulties can easily be worked through with the customer service.

1+ acres… no problem! Does what I expected it to do.
It’s not as good as doing the work yourself but it’s very good for what it does. It’s been working for weeks and I’ve only had to “save” it a few times but generally it’s very good about doing its tasks. The only reason I’ve had to help it was due to my layout. Once I fixed it, it was fine. The best part, the time it saves me from weekly yard work. It handles my 1+ acre yard with a decent slope with out issue. Just maintain it, clean it and it does the rest. Oh, of course you have to edge the yard but that’s nothing compared to the time it used to take me. I feel it’s worth the investment and it’s a solid product. Setup was quick as well.

excellent. Simply excellent. Customer service is the cherry on the cake.
This is an edit of an earlier review, the review impression did not change at all. Now I can report my experience with the customer service. My Luba2 broke his front bumper off, the wires were ripped off in a way that they had to be replaced. I contacted the Amazon Mammotion service team, Aurora responded withing minutes, after having described my problem she sent me a label for a repair return to Canada (I live in the USA). I strongly recommend to keep the box and wrapping foam fo that purpose, what I did, and pay for a UPS-pickup, otherwise the big heavy box should be dropped of at a UPS store, in that case the return was free. Aurora told me, repair would last 1 week, what exactly what it was, with shipping back and forth I had my Luba back within 14 days. Wiring and bumper replaced: TOP! Absolutely amazing! That was clearly no warranty case, but was treated as such. Aurora was really amazing, always avaliable, kept an eye on the repair: great. I recommend to go through Amazon, the customer connection through the app is available for installation questions, not really for serious problems I learned, the Amazon customer service is outstanding, perfect, can't be better. 4-wheel-drive is great. Two blade disks is great. Remotely changeable / programmable mowing height is great. That is what Luba1 and Luba2 have in common. The Luba 2 is a big step forward. I had a Luba 1, at the time I bought this they had 1000m2 and 5000m2, I think, or I bought the 5000m2 size because of the 10 zones? However I can compare the Luba 1 5000, and the Luba2 comes with20 zones and 3000m2 (0.75 acres). For my 0.5 acres property with some separate places for zones to mow that is exactly the model I need. Luba2 is much better than Luba 1, while of course it has the same robust frame (you should not drop it or drive a car over it though!) and maneuverability it has much less connection problems, possibly due to a completely new satellite station, or / and due to the 3d-camera: however the Luba2 runs smooth, be it during mapping or during runs: no interruptions because of poor connectivity any more. Great job, Mammotion! Obstacles like poles in the garden are mowed around very precisely, no need any more to cut around them afterwards with a weed wacker, no need to define no-go-areas any more. The owner has to walk the robot around the perimeter once, and define no-go-areas, the control is comparable to drones, on the phone / tablet. Changes in perimeter -if a new plant is placed in the lawn- can be defined easily by re-walking it at the place where the correction needs to be done, there is no option to make corrections on the phone. The robot has no detection of steps / curbsides, so stay relatively far away, otherwise it will fall down, that is different from vacuum robots. So while the Luba1 5000 was $2900 the Luba 3000 comes for $2500, even saved me something. One thing a buyer should consider: the batteries are obviously remarkably different between the different models. My 3000m2 model has to park much more often at the charger than the 5000m2 model had to, so the same lawn needs significantly more time to be mowed. For me that is absolutely no problem, whether the mower needs 6h or 10h for the property. The charging stops and the travels to and from charging are all great, all goes without any user action needed. If mowing time is of essence I recommend to consider the higher model. The service is helpful, 24h available, they explain and find solutions. If something breaks like my Luba 1 did -I think the satellite station did- it takes some days between my questions and their answers though, I did not see any option for local repairs somewhere. Therefore I was really happy with the Amazon service: I explained my hickups with the Mammotion chat, and Amazon after some minutes chatting took the Luba 1 back. (I still wait for my check though, but can still be in the mail...). I bought the Luba 2 at the same day. another recommendation to the buyer: keep the box. Since there is no local repair option available -afaik- the only option for having it repaired is to ship it. I threw the box out after Luba1 worked last season and half of this one. Fortunately I had two big boxes I could combine, otherwise shipping that Mammotion mammoth is a challenge. Summary: great thing.

Quality product that works well
Works on the hills in my yard which was my biggest factor in buying this product. I did an upgrade using titanium blades and they seem to last a lot longer than those that are supplied with the mower (no complaint about the originals). I am also considering an upgrade to the rear wheels which would make climbing the steeper hills easier with no slipping. It looks like a gear you bolt to the wheels and digs into the ground. A newer model has been released this year with Lidar, and I am hopeful that the camera unit on my mower can be swapped out for the lidar model.

You won’t be disappointed! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pros: - no effort once set up - click and it goes! - precision - quiet Cons: - expensive - will require a 4g subscription after 1 year free ($50/ year… same as 1 mow by a company) - took a little bit of work to figure out the initial setup - doesn’t mulch up leaves I was in need of a new mower. I was paying $50/per week for a company to cut my grass. I don’t have time to cut my own grass, and I don’t have space to store a large mower. So I thought I would try the robot mower. I have a robot vacuum, and it’s terrible 🤣 so I was skeptical going in… I looked at Reddit, and Reddit said that this was the best one. They were right! This thing is so impressive!! The mower took a couple of days to arrive. The manual is long and complicated. I took my time to read it, but some things you don’t really understand until you are trying to get it going. I didn’t realize that the house mount was sold separately. I think that it is important because, from what I’ve read, if the RTK moves, the mower won’t be accurate. So I had to order that, and it delayed getting the mower going by a couple of days, but it is worth it to do it correctly. Mounting the rtk involved using power tools on an extension ladder. The cable was plenty long enough, but since everything needed to be plugged in indoors, we had to drill holes in the house and wire it into the garage. Once that was setup, I followed the prompts in the app to sync my iPad with the RTK, and the mower. Then, the app guided me through the process of setting everything up. I had to drive the mower like an rv car around the perimeter of my property, and the no-mow zones. The app is a little clunky, but gets the job done. We had some trouble initially with getting the blades to engage, but the chat bot helped to resolve that quickly! So, setup is a bit much. But once that’s done, it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever bought on Amazon! 1 click and my entire lawn is mowed! It follows my property boundary with precision each time! Never gets lost, perfect cut each time! Stripes at whatever angle you want! I got this at the end of the mow season. I suspect I will need to mow a couple of times each week when there is high growth just to stay ahead of it. I don’t want to rake grass clippings and it doesn’t bag it or anything. Also, it doesn’t seem like it mulches up leaves. 🍂 My property is 1/3 acres and I got the mid level mower. It takes the mower about 5 hours to finish a mow. If it gets dark before it’s done mowing, it just puts on its lights and keeps going! The mower is super quiet and won’t disturb your neighbors.

I'm getting used to my new life of leisure
Setup was a little finicky but after the first 10 days I'm satisfied with the results I'm getting. I have about 1/4 of an (pie shaped) acre and got the 3000H model. I'm located in eastern Nebraska and the grass type is primarily tall thin fescue. The property has a 100ft+ pin oak that overshadows the entire front yard, and numerous tall trees on the rear property line. The mower seems to operate reliably with at times only occasional opportunities to peak at the open sky. I mounted my rtk antenna high in the attic of a two story walkout - away from the brick chimney. It sees lots of satellites from that position (L1:43 L2:26). I placed the charging station under the back deck on (and zip tied to) a rubber pad sitting on concrete. In my case this required setting up a task area around the charger that never gets mowed. I don't believe either of the above locations are recommended / "by the book", but it seems at least a few others have succesfully taken this route. Specifically since cameras were introduced on version 2 of Luba it can travel some distance out of the view of satellites. Occasionally I have had to manually drive my mower off the charger to an open sky position, but after mowing it has always found its way back to recharge. I did my initial mapping of the yard perimeter with the mower in a wheel barrel. Using the "joy" stick was very annoying for my "senior" hands to guide the mower around a lawn that has almost no straight borders. Hardware build quality seems very good. I understand the software is still being updated frequently but no issues here (I did once see a screen where the cut height seemed to max out below the normal 4in max, but I can't find it now). The "preview " screen that shows you what you just told it to do is a very helpful confirmation step for me - that lets me walk away without looking back so often. I generally won't run my roomba vacuum while I'm home - too noisy. But sitting on the deck I am seldom aware the Luba is running. Wear tough gloves when the mower is turned over - its easy to loose track of one of the 8 razor blades (my mistake is just now healing). I've been ardent about mowing only when it's dry so my cleanup has been minimal. I like the ease of varying the mowing angle on each run. Just like my roomba, I don't use the scheduling function. I have always prefered to normally start with some "prep"; in this case walking the lawn to pickup sticks and pine cones, of which I have many. I've seens videos of folks sending the mower into 6in+ grass. It has the traction to tackle that but for good looking (as well has healthy) results, you want to send it out anytime there is a 1/2in to 1in to mow. (At some point that might start to feel tedious and I'll try scheduIing.) On the topic of traction - if it gets stuck, it will probably make its way free. But that effort could rip up some turf in the process. I had a plastic edging strip that had risen up at its end (from frost heave). My border was defined too close, and the mower hooked the edging just right. 15 seconds later the mower was free & running, but one wheel was coated with turf. Cut quality - I don’t see this discussed much. Of course if you mow every 1/2 inch you will never see clippings again. Thats very satisfying and good for the lawn's health. But the wide wheels and frequent mowing can tend to "lay" the grass down a bit, especially if you want to keep the cutting height set closer to 4in. I would descibe the visual result as that of a lawn frequently cut with a good reel mower. (Its not going to make the grass "stand up" like a Honda does as it cuts.) I don’t expect it will be very helpful this fall when the leaves start piling up. My ego mower collects a lawnbag full of mulched leaves in just one roundtrip across the lawn. In summary, I used to fret over whether it was "time to mow the lawn again", now - if it is dry - I just start the app and go about other activities. And then spend a few minutes with the string trimmer as needed.
