I have had many brands of these but recently got back into reloading for a retirement hobby. At first, it seemed flimsy due to the mismatch i the covers. The I looked at the instruction photos and I was impressed. They are intentionally formed to allow sitting on an anti rotation device when open, or pulled apart and past that when closed for operation. Very intelligent design and works great. My load of .40 brass was clean far faster than I thought it would be. AWESOME!

Works well but is a bit flimsy when snapped together. Does a great job separating brass from media. For the price it’s be hard to beat.

so i unboxed this, looking for a tool to keep all the dust that occurs with ground walnut shell away from me and my lungs. and hoping that it would let all the media out of the shells. i purposely (at least in my opinion) overloaded this with tumbled brass. and it performed wonderfully. the only cases that did not completely empty were the ones that had smaller cases jammed into larger ones (pistol cases) with the media trapped. and this is on me, not the separator. the only flaw i have found was the top cover was a little deformed from packaging. but once i assembled the pieces, and left them set for a couple days, its no longer an issue. i am amazed how well this traps the dust! especially since there is no formal seal around the joining surfaces. i own a mixture of reloading tool brands, and i have found Lyman products simply work the way they should.

The actual cage is not well designed. Fitting 2 halves together looks good in theory but practical use is not so great. They don’t fit together all that well and when you have brass and media in, it’s even more difficult. This is supposed to make easier, not harder. Not a good product. Have an older, clamshell model that I am going back to.

This device is a great idea. It will (and does) sort out the media from the brass quickly. But I have to give it lower marks on a few points. 1) The pieces are not exactly made to the correct sizes. That is, they don't fit together quite as well as they ought to. Thank goodness the plastic is very pliable. You can put pressure on the pieces to get them to fit together. 2) $31.99 is too much to charge for this item. For the price, a sturdier & better-fitted product could easy have been put together. You're paying for the name buddy... LYMAN. Lyman ought to put their name on better-built items. 3) For ease of use, well... once you get it together it's very easy to use. But first, you have to get the pieces to fit.With thoughtful use and storage, this item works well for sorting the media from the brass. Just realize that you'll have to spend some time getting the pieces to fit. If you're fine with that (as I am), no prob. I'm gonna keep it.

Boyfriend was happy to get it However , he had a hard time getting it to close on one side. He seems happy with it so far. I’ll let you know how he likes it once he actually uses it.

Extremely disappointed. The box was retapped, looked as if someone had opened it, the box was crumpled on the top. The item looks as if it’s been used. Looks like something was ripped off the top

Simple bit of kit, but makes the job of separating cases from polishing media a lot easier. Quick delivery, and I'm happy that I bought it.
