RecPro RV Microwave with Trim Kit | 1.0 Cu. Ft. | 900W | Direct Replacement for Greystone and High Pointe (Stainless Steel)

I planned for a built in microwave in a 24" cabinet in a basement wet bar. However, I didn't look for the microwave until after the cabinet was installed. I couldn't believe the limited choices! The only options I found in this size were $1,000+ microwave drawers or the RecPro. I took a chance on the RecPro and it fits, looks, and works better than expected. It has a built in (maybe a little clunky) look and it works great. My kids laugh now I need to buy an RV to go with my microwave. Definitely a good fine!

I ended up replacing all my kitchen appliances in my RV and switched over to stainless from black. As a retired building manager at Cal Berkeley, I’m very worried about fire prevention. I removed the open flame stove and gas oven in my 5th wheel trailer to help mitigate the possibility of fire. This microwave was as close as I could find to fit above the stove. It was about a 16 of an inch too narrow so I added a small piece of walnut to the face frame and all is good. It looks good, and works well too and at a very reasonable price. it’s not a 1500 watt model so it cooks a little slower then the microwave at home. I ended up replacing the stove and oven with an induction cooktop and put in a drawer dishwasher by Fisher and Paykel. The refrigerator that came with the trailer I pulled out and replaced it with a Samsung French door model RF18 in stainless with an ice maker. I also added a real nice stainless toaster convection oven by Breville. Finally, to complete the stainless look, the hood above the cooktop was also replaced in stainless steel. The kitchen in my RV looks and works better then my house. Having been both a graduate student at Berkeley for 6 years and an employee for over 34 years, I’m addicted to Peet’s coffee, a Berkeley tradition and an every morning must have. I bought a Jura S9 super automatic coffee machine and it is sitting on my counter so I feel at home on the road. Both my wife and I are happy with all the upgrades including this microwave. The coffee machine is plumbed to water so I don’t even need water to get my morning coffee. I stagger, blurry eyed, into the kitchen and simply press a button, within 30 seconds, I have a hot delicious cup of Joe under my nose.

Very easy install in our RV and it works great! The only thing is it said in the description that it has a 30 sec. Button! It does not have a 30 sec. Button!

The microwave on our In Tech Sol Dawn trailer quit, the first trip this year, lit up, plate spun, etc but no heat. Research showed the most common failure is the magnatron, $200-300 to repair and not a DIY project (capacitor has a possible fatal level of charge stored), we have an extended warranty on appliances in the trailer, if the manufacturer refuses to replace it (it's out of original 1 year warranty) the RV dealer will replace it, EXCEPT, it's summer and we're going camping almost every weekend and all that will take too way long so I bit the bullet and bought this one. It says it's an exact fit replacement for the High Point brand that came with the camper. It fit like a glove, plugged it in, pushed it back into the cabinet, the four holes in the chrome cover lined up and I ran the screws in and heated a cup of water (not supposed to ever run it without something in it, I found out), it came out hot. I just hope it lasts longer than the original one that we used 10-15 times last year on a few weekend overnights. Maybe microwaves aren't built to take bouncing in an RV. We bought this one to replace the Advent microwave in our 2014 Thor Motorhome. It said it was a direct replacement. Im thinking the older motorhomes may have had a larger opening, because the trim piece that came with this one did not cover the opening. What I did was take the trim piece off the original unit, cut off all the mounting sides, and screw it to the opening. I was able to put 2 screws in the bottom of the new trim, but none on top. I screwed 4 screws on the Old trim and it worked out good. Still have a small gap on top, but really not noticeable. And now we have a Microwave again. :)

Bought to replace the original microwave in our RV, which was 14 years old. Unfortunately, I was unable to install it right away, had to wait 3 months with it in the box in the house. Then installed and it worked fine at home. We rarely camp where there's shore power or use our generator. Finally used it 9 months later, it functioned on that one trip. Then 13 months after purchase we had the opportunity to use it again, and the display just flashed random nonsense and the keypad didn't respond. Tried it at home afterwards, same result. Went camping a few times and then came 2020,no camping for many months. Then in March 2021 we took a trip through the southwest and at a campground near Tucson where we had power it worked fine. We now always unplug it when not using it. Worked fine for a week and then a week later at a different campground the display didn't light up and keypad dead again (RV has a surge protecter). When the door is open the interior light comes on and turntable turns, that's it. Unreliable piece of junk. Not certain we'll ever buy another microwave for our RV, will make the space into a cabinet.
