Review of FLEXI Giant Tape Retractable Dog Leashes for Large Dogs Up to 110 lbs. – 26 ft., Black | Tangle Free Pet Walking Leash with One-Handed Brake, Pause, Lock | German Quality Product I had an older one of these that I retired to a memorial box when I lost my fur soulmate. My best friend brought her German Shepherd up again for a visit. I wanted to be able to walk him more easily and safely than by using the standard leashes that she brought with her. For the record, he is 16 months old and weighs about 95 pounds. He has had basic professional training and was doing great, but has become reactive to some things, and is hard to control outside in the yard sometimes. This leash is one I knew I could trust. The length is great and is easy to control with the brake system. The brake system is easy to control and operate and to lock into place (and to unlock as well). The tape is reflective, but it’s difficult to see that in my photo provided as I wasn’t able to use my flashlight and take a picture at the same time. The picture is just with the camera’s flash; plus, my outside floodlights had come on. It doesn’t tangle up, although it looks like it’s going to. Yes, it is slightly heavy for some to carry around, but it doesn't bother me. I felt it was comfortable in my hand and mostly easy to grip onto. It just works! It comes with a safety loop that incorporates into the harness/collar D-Ring, but I am not really sure how this really works or helps. I included a close-up of the instructions on the safety loop. I have not tried it yet. It is pricier than many leashes, but worth it. It’s made in Germany, and that is a plus to me. It is Ryker Der Hauswolf approved and I recommend it.

So happy with this purchase. My dog is 55 pounds but I upgraded to the 110 and glad I did. This will change our walks. I have a high energy labrador and walking her as miserable. I have worked with professional dog trainers who want me to do a certain method and what happens is I just don’t walk enough because it doesn’t work. This lead is great because she can stay at what she wants to sniff run in front, sniff sniff sniff while I’m walking up to her I can pass her. She can stay. It gives her so much freedom and it’s very strong.

This is a great leash for active medium to large size dogs. We use a bungee type extension on the end to minimize arm and shoulder stress with active and pulling dogs. This is our third 26' Flexi leash. They do wear out mostly because they get sand dirt and moisture inside. The weakest point is the spring hook for attaching to you dog's harness or to the bungee extension. If this gets dirt or sand in it, it will stay in an open position and the leash will get unattached. See photo. I am going to tape over this on our new one to keep it clean at the beach - since we use the bungee's spring hook to attach to the dog harness, this part can be taped shut long term. Good luck...

My golden retriever is 60 pounds and she pulls really hard. The retractable leash is the only one that has been able to resist her pulling, and it feels so easy and smooth at the same time. German quality is always a good sign :) Neon color is a game changer, especially when it is so hot outside and you walk your dog very early or at night. I will definitely recommend it without a doubt. I just regret they do not have a potty bag holder on their website for this particular model.

Love it! It's much sturdier than the regular version, and it gives my dog plenty of freedom to explore without constantly pulling me down the street. My only complaint is that there isn't a convenient place to attach dog waste bags, but I usually carry them myself anyway. It is more expensive than other leashes, but the quality is worth it. It feels built to last for years, making the higher price a worthwhile investment.

This is my 2nd one in 6 years. Unbelievable how good this leash is, I have a 7 year old Belgian Malinois/Mastiff mix weighing in between 110-125lbs and has unreal strength when he sees a squirrel. The leash holds and holds tight as soon as you click the lock. Quality Germany made. Non of that India crap.....
