Hard to find item locally, well price

This was a exact replacement for the OEM Hayward salt cell union that broke after 15 years in the sun. I was able to cut the end collar off the union with a hacksaw without cutting the pipe. I then took a dremel to cut 3 small lines in the remaining piece on the pipe and with a flathead screwdriver and a small hammer I chipped the 3 small pieces off from the pipe. Then used some sand paper to clean up the original PVC pipe and primed and glued the new union back on. Salt cell works perfect again.

I seem to have a problem with one of my spa pumps air locking every time I drain and refill so I am replacing the junk gate style valves (which get stuck down) with ball valves and teeing in a hose connection between the valves for releasing air while filling the tub and also having a place to fill water using a garden hose in front of the pump if I need to. I have a PDC brand Spa with what my local Pool/Spa outfitter calls a "Marquis" style pump unions. Not sure if this is an accurate description by them, (I think Marquis is just the company they order this part from) but they only had 1 of these in stock and will take them at least a week to get more. Note that Lowes/Home Depot/ Plumbing supply places do not carry this part and no plumbing part has the same threads as these connections....This is the magical part for my project that only pool/spa stores carry. Very glad to see Amazon carries this part, even though it is a bit more expensive (talking only a few bucks here) at least I can have it shipped to me (Prime!) instead of searching local stores for it and waiting for them to get around to ordering more!!

This part was exactly what we needed to plumb our outflow to the pool. We switched from the hose to flexible pvc so we could bury the lines

Exactly what I expected

Too many "knock offs" these days makes it difficult to source OEM parts. These are the real things and were easily replaced. One of the quickest plumbing jobs in my entire life!
