Love this bowl!! I purchased this bowl style after first trying a very cheap looking basket style salt lamp (it had looked WAAY better in pics). This lamp is elegant in a simple understated way. It goes with any style of decor. The bowl part is very solid and heavy, the individual salt chunks are solid as well, not flaky and brittle. The color variations are nice and the whole lamp gives a soothing glow when it is dark, I like that I can adjust the brightness with the dimmable switch. I can't attest to the purported health benefits, but this Himalayan salt lamp bowl makes me happy. I purchased this one for our bedroom area. Like it so much I just ordered a second one for living room and would definitely feel comfortable to give one as a gift. It is a great value for this solid piece. I did have an issue with the cord crapping out after 2 days and the original bulbs that came with it burnt out at same time too, I think they got too hot...maybe the cause of problem?? I contacted the seller and they sent me a new cord pronto...2 days later was good to go again. No loss of stars due to quick and friendly response. I did buy other dimmable night light bulbs to use instead and have not had a problem. The lamp is turned off when not home for safety. The option of a white cord would be my only suggestion.

Initially, I purchased another, less expensive Himalayan Salt Lamp from Amazon. When it arrived, it seemed as though the color of the salt had been painted as I saw pearlized globs of paint on it. I washed some and sure enough, the salt was pure white! Then I read about a fire hazards with the unit's cord so I quickly returned that one. I decided to take a chance on this one (the cost was about 2X more).I just felt a bit more comfortable with the feedback as well as doing research on mining of Himalayan Salt s. This company was clear on where they mine them. When this item arrived, I opened the box, and found that it was extremely well packed! Each item was separately packed and it came with an abundance of really nice sized, beautiful colored salt chunks as well as 2 bulbs. The base was securely attached to a magnificent thick salt bowl. The center of the bowl had an opening for the bulb. This company thought of everything as they had a sturdy wire cage that surrounded the top of the bulb so that it will not be damaged when the salt chunks are laid on top (unlike the other company). I placed my salt chunks all around the top of the bowl and plugged it in. I could not get over how absolutely beautiful it was! The first thing I thought of was how I would love one in my office and my work out meditation room. It took everything for me to not run upstairs and purchase more! I know I will though, as I want to give this as a gift to a friend that would also love it and I will probably give in and buy at least one more for me!! The level of the dimmer is great - very bright to very low. On the highest level, you can feel the warmth and it illuminates the bowl as well as the chunks. At night, I put it on the lowest level and keep it on all night. It has a soft warm orange glow. You will not be disappointed if you get this - it was so worth the extra money and I am pretty frugal, but I truly believe that this item is definitely worth the price. No regrets here! If you are not happy with it, you must have received a lemon (every company ahs that sometimes) but how they deal with it is the important thing. I can't attest to their customer service as mine arrived in perfect condition but try it, I think you will really like it.

Overall, this is a nice lamp. I would have preferred that the bowl been deeper like my other salt lamps. This bowl is very shallow. But the rocks and bowl are a good color and it throws nice deep orange glow. The lamp light has a shield around it that keeps rocks from breaking bulb which my other lamps don't have but it was never a problem with breaking the bulb so not sure its necessary. This light came with two bulbs which look like Christmas type bulbs but they are capable of dimming. My other lamps didn't dim & hand tubular type bulbs. This lamp also has a nice dimmer switch too. I didn't think I'd use it but I actually do. I could not remember where I purchased my other lamps which was back around 2009 and wanted to get more of them. I tried a lamp I got through Walmart which was really poor quality and returned it. I think there are tons of these now on the market which makes it hard to decide where to purchase. But so far, I like this one and it appears to be of good quality. I was going to return it only because it appears the bottom piece might be broken. But I sent them an email and customer service said they all are made like this. Looks like its broken or cracked as my photo shows but maybe not. Would be interested to know if other people's lamps have this on the bottom. Overall, happy with purchase. Deducted 1 star only because of uncertainty about that piece on bottom.

I am so very pleased with this purchase. I have another, smaller more traditional style salt lamp for which I purchased this as a companion piece. What can I say? This is a high quality lamp. It comes well packaged, with lots of protection for each of the pieces. It is heavy, which surprised me. The bowl requires two hands to carry it. The salt chunks are ample. There is no skimping there. It has a dimmer switch, which provides for a variety of brightness--and something I have not seen in other lamps--they provide a second bulb! The bulb is nice too--it has an amber tone filament which adds to the warm glow of the lamp. Honestly, I would not have expected such a great lamp for the money. It is an exceptional value.

This is like the Origami of Salt Lamps. Very beautiful. I like that it uses 25 Watt E12 bulbs, more light than the ones with 15 Watt bulbs, and a dimmer. I've uploaded a photo of the dimmer switch specs for those of you needing this info. Note that it is a 100W capacity switch. This is a very attractive bowl. See photo -- taken in darkness and exudes a warm golden color. I use it as a night light in my living room as I sometimes have stumbled around to fetch an ice cream treat in the middle of the night. I have it plugged in to a wireless light switch that I set for "on" at sundown and "off" at sunrise. The dimmer is set at its max in the photo. The fat chunks of salt that come with it should last a long time. Fun placing them, like Origami. I use the incandescent bulbs that come with it and got more on Amazon as AI says they might last 1000-2000 hours They should warm the salt chunks better than the cooler and longer lasting LEDs so the incandescents can work their magic. I'm very happy with this salt lamp bowl and highly recommend. Enjoy!

Created a nice warm glow in my bedroom. Nice to place how many rocks u may use..go high...go low. Adjustable style with adjustable lighting.

I am in love with this. Lights up the house in a beautiful warm glow. It makes this house a warm cozy home!

This is great for before bedtime to wind down. The dimmer goes from very dim to pretty bright. The only complaint I have is the bowl and rocks are all very pale (paler than the photos) except I received one rock that is more orangey and kind of sticks out like a sore thumb.
