A well-executed exercise in survival design
I was looking for a good folding knife I could carry in my pocket when my wife and I take our upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon, and this seemed like a good choice. Running down the features: The flashlight is unbelievable (though I had to have my daughter load the four tiny hearing aid batteries). The bottle opener seems a little anachronistic; something to open tin cans might be better. The fire starter is a stick of metal that sparks very aggressively if you strike it with the saw portion of the blade. I almost set the couch on fire with it.The razor cutter is untested, though its opening was large enough that my daughter had to watch her fingers. My fingers are large enough I can't reach the blade unless I'm trying. The window breaker is a simple steel point, and I have no doubt it would work to break a car window. Glass hates concentrated loads. The major requirement for me was that the knife fit comfortably in my pocket and open quickly. This one does. It's about 5 inches long folded, and opens with a flick of the right thumb. The grip is very comfortable, a good feel in the hand.Overall, a well-executed exercise in survival design.

Pocket or car this is a good knife to carry.
This is a really good everyday carry knife. It has weight, sharpness, saw tooth, fire starter, light, easy to open, seat belt cutter and fits easily in my pocket. It is a folding knife that can save your life and for that it is well worth the money. Take the paper seal out of the batteries to make the light work. The light come out for individual use and sits in the knife by magnet. I do not classify this as a survival knife but as a rescue knife. If you go camping then use a fixed blade survival knife. This folding knife is for the car or your pocket. For self defense the knife is sharp and the glass cutter can be used as a pummel. It opens quickly and stays locked. It also has a beer bottle opener and it works well.

Knife is solid and well built.
Knife is solid and well built. Blade is strong and sharp. Flashlight seems really week. Fire starter is hard to get out. No trouble closing it and it opens with a quick snap almost like a switch blade! Bit wider than I would like it to be (in order to git the light).

Disappointed, there are better options available.
I purchased this survival knife as well as another survival knife that was $10 less for Christmas presents and this knife disappointed in comparison. Starting with the box, it is a plain, unlabeled white box, which wouldn't matter if you were buying for yourself, but it was almost embarrassing as a gift. The blade itself seemed nice, but the entire product seemed bulky and I question its durability. The light worked, but wasn't as bright as the light that was on my other knife. This light does come out, but I'm not really sure why you would want to take it out and is difficult to get back in. I didn't see the fire starter in use, but I'm assuming it works and it did fit in nicely.Had I purchased just this knife alone, I may have given it 4 stars, but the fact that I also purchased another knife for $10 less which I thought was better in every aspect lets me say that this knife isn't worth the price. (full disclosure: the other knife did not have the fire starter, but you can buy one for far less than $10). I can say with certainty there are better options out there for much less unless you absolutely need the firestarter with the knife.

Love it!!!
I love this knife. I have another one from solo survival and fell in love with it right away. I wanted to see if this one hold up to its reputation and it is truly a great survival or edc knife for anybody in any situation. Sharp out of the box, the detachable flashlight is awesome works great with a magnet, the flint is good and works great throwing good size sparks have stated a couple fires with it and the bottle opener is a very noce addition. I havent had the chance to test the window breaker or the seatbelt cuttel vut hopefully ill never have to and im sure that itll do the job if it ever came to that. If you're looking for a knife that does it all this is your knife.

Nice Idea needing more work
I found the knife to be what I was looking for, but the ferrol (fire stick) was marginal in starting a fire with simular materials. Vasciline cotton balls, fluffed bark, steel wool, oakum. I like to small flash light but it fail to remain in the sheeth. I am now looking for a 1 inch flash light in my house.

Cheap, several problems
Cheap!Had the following problems:The knife will not lock open. Usually goes to 90 degrees and stops, and even if I open it all the way, I have to force it to lock. With a lot of wiggling, I can get it to lock. It requires a lot of force to unlock and close, and I can't comfortably do it one-handed. I'm not going to carry a pocket knife that's not one-handed operation. I already have several assisted-open that work well.Window breaker: Looks like it's intentionally rounded or blunted. I have no idea if it will work. Doesn't appear to be a hardened material (eg not carbide)Fire steel: The knife really doesn't have a nice 90 degree surface for scraping. I tried several areas and couldn't generate a spark. Only thing that generated a spark was using the cutting edge.FYI: actual measured wt is 5.4 oz, in case you're wonderingOVERALL: It's a cool gadget, great concept to have small LED light and fire starter all contained in a pocket knife. But needs to do everything better. I may return it, or may sit in the back of my car for emergencies that will probably never happen. This is NOT something I'd bring with me if I thought I might need it. I thought about two stars, but I'm giving it one star because it's a knife that's bad at being a knife... if you're going to make a knife, it has to be a good knife, regardless of other gadgets you put on it.GOOD FOR: cool gift, reasonably priced, for someone who won't put it through hard use; keep in emergency bag, but will probably never be used (I wouldn't spend big money on a knife that's going to sit in a bag and never get used)BAD FOR: Every-day-carry, daily work, emergency responders, camping, any situation where you could grab a different knife. Spend a little extra and get a good-quality knife.
