I have one child, and I have severe health anxiety. This thermometer is a fantastic purchase - it’s accurate, it’s quick, it’s easy to use. I’ve been through 15 different thermometers, they either stop working completely, or become inaccurate (as in, I’m 99 percent sure I’d be dead or dying if my body temp was 108F as according to my nonBraun secondary in-ear thermometer). So far, this thermometer has “predicted” an incoming illness twice. The first time my child looked a little “off”. All parents know what I mean - the pale face, the glazed eyes, being oddly tired mid-morning, knowing my kid usually measures a perfect 98.6, this Braun measures her at an elevated-for-her 99.5F. Sure enough, 101F by dinnertime. My second inaccurate forehead reader got her as her regular temp both times. My other in-ear read her as 98.6 and then at 99.9, when Braun said 101 and her demeanor/sick face said 101. I highly recommend saving your money, go with Braun instead of cheaping out like I did. It’s accurate always, especially when it matters.

This has been the best thermometer we've owned in over 8 years of being parents. Honestly wish I had spent the money sooner. It may be pricier but honestly its a must have because it is so easy to use and accurate!! I love the case it comes with to sit in and hold extra covers in. Also love the color coding for temperature ranges!!

The freaking best! I have a special needs kiddo that is medically complex. He is always getting sick and it can be very scary. I was tired of buying thermometer after thermometer and it always be incorrect. My son is too big for rectum temps . I didn’t wanna spend the money but I also didn’t want to have to keep buying a new temp every month so I looked “ best thermometer that is the most accurate in 2026” this popped up I looked at review and it DOES NOT disappoint. Most accurate. I tried it with several other temps and doing my son’s rectum temp and it kept coming up accurate. BEST investment ever. The fact of knowing this may be the most accurate I would ever get gives me a peace of mind when taking care of my special needs non verbal child. He cannot tell me how he feels so I need accuracy! Thank you Braun!I also love that u can buy extra covers for the ear to keep it nice and clean but it also makes it so that your temp is accurate and not reading wrong because of dirt,ear wax etc. Go get u one!!

When I have a fever, I like to check it often. This model makes you reselect WHICH age the person is whose temp will be read. And you have to do this EACH TIME after you turn off the thermometer (which is necessary or the battery will wear out). As if that isn’t enough, you need to SCROLL horizontally all the way over to the Adult setting each time. And when you turn off the thermometer, that “memory” isn’t retained so you have to keep redoing those steps every time you take your adult temperature. I wish they didn’t design it this way. I think most people already KNOW which temp range is too high for each age (for the most part). Just give me my temperature and I can take it from there. I can understand their concern to ensure a child’s temperature is within a safe range, but THIS product is annoying and a waste for someone using it for an Adult. The temperature read is accurate, though. But because of these long, unnecessary repetitive steps for an adult to use it, I do not recommend this design.

I love this thermometer. Always seems to be advertised more for infants, but it is my go-to for the entire family. I had a Braun ear thermometer from 20 years ago, that I was still using this past week for myself, but the button to press to get a reading was needing some extra pressure to make it work. Not bad for having something for 20 years! That is why I remain with Braun. I love that the lens filters I bought with the old one still work with this one. I am still able to buy them at the box stores if needed. Another selling point but probably will buy extra lens filters online to save myself the trouble. I did see a review where someone mentioned they wish it was rechargeable. Having kids in college now and much experience in checking for fevers over the years, I do not mind the AA batteries for this. It is not something you use every week and if the batteries go low you want a temp reading quick. Trying to charge something in a pinch is not my choice. I always have AA batteries around if needed. Older models have those flat batteries and I can tell you it is no fun digging around to find spares on those, or going to a store that may or may not have the flat batteries when you kid has a fever. I also love that the holding case lets you put the lens covers in the holder with the thermometer. No digging around. It is all right there. Only super minor thing I would fix is that when I tried to pull the thermometer out of the holder, I was pulling from the TOP near the lens. I thought it was wedged it, but it was not. You need to pull it out of the holder from about 3/4 of the way down, and the thermometer easily pulls out. The diagram did not really describe it well. I know a small thing, but in a pinch at 2am good for a parent to not need to figure that out for the first time. My ONLY suggestion to Braun would be to put a couple of arrows on the body of holder with arrows saying "Pull here". Like I said, if you pull at the top it will not come out. I know super minor, but a nice helpful touch. Great product though! I would recommend it.

I got this thermometer as one of those “future family” purchases. I’m not currently using it for a house full of sick kids, but I wanted to start collecting the practical things I know we’ll eventually need, instead of waiting until it’s midnight, someone has a fever, and I’m panic-buying whatever is available. This feels like a solid, reliable thermometer to have on hand. It’s easy to use, the reading is quick, and I like that it has the age-adjusted feature because fevers can feel confusing, especially when you’re thinking about babies or little kids. I also appreciate that it feels more serious and dependable than the cheaper thermometers I’ve had in the past. The ear covers are something to keep in mind because you’ll need replacements eventually, but I understand why they’re used. For something health-related, I’d rather have it feel clean and consistent than overly basic. Overall, this is the kind of item that may not seem exciting, but it feels like a smart investment. It gives me peace of mind knowing I already have a good thermometer ready for the future instead of scrambling later.
