It works great, Very sturdy.
This knife works very well for carving pumpkins. I would hesitate to let a young child use it due to it being very sharp. I thought this was a little smaller than my drywall saw but it is the same size. I would probably go to your local home improvement store and by a drywall saw, which would probably be under 10 bucks. Overall though it is a very nice saw and you can trim drywall the other 11 months out of the year! LOL!

Cuts through Pumpkins like butter
You have to have one of these for carving pumpkins. Made is so easy and quick! Get one of the glove claws to clean out the inside and what once was a chore for me is so much more enjoyable!

Does a decent job, not worth cost if just using for pumpkin carving
Got this specifically to carve a pumpkin. I'm not picasso, but I feel like the blade is so large and handle a little clumsy that finer details were extremely challenging with this blade. Its sharp and it works, but for pumpkin carving I would probably spend the same amount of money for a set of different size blades. This may be a very good choice for fruit and stuff, but I can't comment on using it for that

Works Great!
We used ours for pumpkin carving but I think this would be great for a lot of things like turkeys or even boxes. Easy to use, reliable, great investment.

The Tool for the Job!
I have absolutely crippled myself into palsy trying to use that tiny blade they give you in the pumpkin carving kits--any pumpkin bigger than a cantaloupe needs a REAL blade. Of course you know it has to be serrated and easy to hold. Here it is! I just carved my Jack O'Lantern for 2023 and it went quickly and smoothly and I didn't cramp my hand with this knife--not even close. It looks like it's treated on the side, too, to keep it from sticking like a normal knife would; slides right through. In the way of manual tools, this is my weapon of choice--if you go automatic, maybe a reciprocating saw.
