Do I really need to do the base and top coat?

Yes, in case of a gal polish you have to use a bade coat and top coat. And u need a LED lamp to dry it also

How long did you need to soak your nails in acetone for removal?

It took a very long time. I tried 10 minutes but that wasnt long enough so I kept soaking and peeling it off. I love the color and how it lasts but removal was difficult.

Will this make my nails hard

Gel polish will not change how hard your natural nails are, but when applied and cured correctly, it will add hardened layers of polish on your nails that well definitely make them stronger and less likely to break. This will only be the case when the polish is on your nails however.

Can you use this gel polish with another base and top coat gel brand?

Absolutely! I have used it with CND and other brands I've bought on Amazon. This brand is great, have used for past 3 years. They also have a new top n base coat that's even better than the regular gel set as the top coat is a non wipe off coat.
