I recommend a different planting method. Beautiful in Colorado foothills.
The instructions say to put out the seeds, then lightly rake. On day 1, I followed instructions exactly with the first bag, but there are two problems with this: 1. If it's windy, the lighter seeds get carried off, while the heavier seeds drop straight. So the mix ends up uneven. This happened to me. 2. Raking causes the seeds to group. So I got both bald patches and very thick patches. So, 10 days later, I put out a second bag, doing this instead: I mixed one bag of seed with one bag of grass soil first, THEN distributed. This solved both problems described above. The seeds all dropped with the same weight without flying away, and I could control where they went. And now the grass is coming in beautifully. Any patchiness you see in the photos is because the two bags were planted 10 days apart - the second round of grass is just coming in later. But it's not patchy, promise. I recommend the product.

Buffalo grass never germinated
I have a small area on back side of house that does not grow grass well. Little bit rocky and mild slope that is prone to erosion. I added about an inch or so of new soil to the entire area prior to sowing this 1 pound (very expensive) bag of seed mix. I planted last week of May and then I watered the area every day (except on rainy days). Some of the smaller grass germinated and grew to about 2 inches, but then just kind of fizzled out. There are still splotches of that grass. The buffalo grass seeds never seemed to germinate. If I dig around in the dirt, they are still just sitting in there. Not impressed at all.

Buffalo grass seed, mix
I was looking for buffalo grass seed. I realize this is. A mix, but nowhere in the description can I find only 42% of the seed is buffalo. With recent rains, hopefully some seed will germinate.

Does the job
I am in USDA zone 7 and want to try this out as an alternative to Bermuda for our lawn. I planted it in April once soil temperatures warmed up enough for germination and watered it twice daily until the seeds sprouted. Both the buffalo grass and blue grama appeared to have a high germination rate and the grass filled in nicely once it got started with daily or every other day watering. Now that we are in the peak of our Oklahoma summer heat it's still holding up well. I plan to buy more to seed our backyard next spring. Good product!

My back yard looks no worse
Difficult to determine the results. I used this for over seeding my back yard and I canโt really tell the difference.
