For holiday sides, cornbread, muffins, and biscuits, add a pinch for herby taste. Use sparingly as it holds flavor well. I can use it and hear it snap shut. When opening it for the first time I do not remove the entire protective covering under the lid, I normally only take off half so that when dispensing the safe I have more control. If needed I can always take off the top and dispense it that way for large dishes. Back to the sage itself. It smells great when opened, nice and fresh. When making breakfast sausage I normally sprinkle it on top while cooking and the flavor comes through in the finished product. I do this because our stores sometimes run out of sage sausage and my husband loves the sage flavoring (as I do). It pairs nicely with the eggs and bagel. Gives breakfast a little boost.
