Quit at the worst time...
Well its an all right pump. But only lasted 2 years. So not sure if I recommend it.

Quality buy
Works great, it was the right size for the pool. The pressure is noticeable and it's been about a year and still working great.

Works Wonderful For Summer Wave Pool
I have always loved Bestway pool products, so that was my reason for buying this pump, it was also cheaper than other sellers! My pump that came with our summer wave pool is 350gph and doesn't clean, the skimmer and pump are no longer being produced, so I decided to get the Flowclear and attach it to my existing skimmer and pump without buying a connector and new summer waves skimmer. If you have a summer waves skimmer and pump with a square opening and want to upgrade without the cost I recommend the flowclear 1000gph. This work beautiful for 10x10 and 12x12 pools. Once I hooked it up to our existing pump (took 5 minutes) it took 1 hour and our 10x10 was spotless. I left the filter in the old pump skimmer as well so we have double filtration. Suction is perfect. I'll update in the future on its longevity and quality.

Bad switch only worked for 4 or 5 months. When it got wet it didn't work
This thing only lasted about 4 months and then the switch or something went out. If the switch gets wet or the pump gets wet from splashes or anything, nothing works. It just doesn't function, and we use our pool year around but it did rain one day and I ended up having to take the off on switch apart and dry it out,? And I kept it in a dry spot but the humidity once again made it fail

Part 1 of 2 reviews, 1st day
Sorted out all pieces, the pump states for my type of pool, 3 hose, 3000+ gallon above ground pool. All seemed well, however there are only 2 joiner pieces that connect hoses to in-pool aerator part. The 2 parts show to connect to the 2 hoses that suction water out of pool, not to the hose that replaces the filtered water to pool. Thus leaving the filtered water hose without. Put the tightened clasps on started pump, ran great. Water looked cleaner in 2 hours. Was really happy. Now fast forward 6 hours, pump has turned off, (has great timer feature!). Look down side of my house and water is standing between my home and neighbors. I go to backyard to find the "A" hose leaking water, not just a few drips but enough to drop water depth by 7 inches. The hose leaks at the screw connector. I tightened it as much as could be done, leak stopped. Looked in on it a couple hours later, leaking again. Have to go to hardware store in morning, going to try pipe tape, seems there should have been another connector piece for hose "A". Will post further after a couple weeks, to insure the pipe tape works and pump continues to perform optimally. Currently ok with the pump and performance.

We are spending more time swimming thanks to this pump
I was very skeptical about purchasing this pump after reading reviews that stated the lid leaked etc.The lid doesn't leak. My pump was pulling in air from the connection on the pool. My unit came with the extra attachments and they fix perfectly. I had them to snug and caused a small space large enough for the air to be pulled into the filter, so if you have that problem check connections its not the pump. The pump that came with my 15x32 pool was not moving the water like I wanted and it seemed like I was spending more in maintenance than swimming. If you want a pump that will move the water this is the pump for you, it does make some noise but its not bad. I waited to write the review because i wanted to make sure this pump wasn't a dud. I put shock in the pool and it moved everything for me, before I was having to actually stir the water to get the shock to circulate and now that's not a problem. I'm spending less on maintenance and more time swimming because this pump moves the water like it should be. I'm happy I spent the extra few dollars it will pay for it self.

The right size for a 12-foot pool.
I bought this as a replacement for the Intex 600 Gal/hr filter-pump that came with my 12 foot pool. The difference is night and day. In my opinion, this is the correct size pump for a round pool of 12' across and 3' deep. It actually moves the water, unlike the little Intex pump that choked on the first piece of sand that got into it. I really appreciate that all the fittings were included to connect to my original 1.25 inch ports. Mine has worked like a charm and I've had no problems with any leaks. The filter lid can be tough to open if you screw it on too tight. Mine has the O-ring for the seal which works great, so you don't need to over tighten it. I run it for long periods of time and only need to vent some trapped air occasionally. It is worry free in my experience. I'm still using the original filter, which is large and sturdy. I hose it off when it gets dirty. I bought the 6 pack online, since that was the best deal around. 6 filters should last me all season and then some, based on the first one so far. Bottom-line, I've had a perfect experience with the unit i received. I'd buy it again.

Not recommended for a larger pool
Our pool is about 10k gallons and the original pump finally stopped working. After a quick search for a pump that would get to me the fastest this was the pump I bought. The install is very easy. I canโt say anything about the instructions because I did not need them, but if youโre used to working with pool pumps you should be safe. The issue: 1500 gallons per hour is no small amount of output, and yet you canโt feel the pump working in our pool. I actually thought the pump was defective until I tried putting a leaf in front of the output and watched the leaf gently swaying from the flow. This likely is not an issue for a smaller pool, but trying to keep the chemicals circulating is difficult when the pump is not pulling in the water at a significant speed. I would not recommend this pump for my use case, but if you have a smaller pool (maybe 4k-6k gallons at most), then this might be good for you.
