Excellent product
RockTape is terrific for lending light support to injured body parts. I've used other brands in the past, but RockTape is more forgiving and sticks better. Yes, you will probably need to use the yank-and-shriek method for removing the tape because, if you've applied it correctly, it probably won't come off on it's own. IMO, pulling it off isn't a big deal at all unless a lot of body hair is involved. The tape can stay stuck for weeks, but it should be removed after one week to allow the skin to breathe. Pulling it off after it's gotten completely wet in the shower works best. Otherwise, after bathing just blot it lightly to remove excess moisture. I sometimes use a hair dryer for quicker drying. Some key points for successful application: 1) Clean the area with rubbing alcohol. 2) Measure the length you will need and cut the tape an inch or so shorter than the area you plan to cover. 3) Round the corners of the tape. 4) Tear the paper backing in half vertically, roughly in the middle of the strip you've cut (the fabric will not tear), and turn the cut edges of the paper back to expose several inches of fabric. These cut edges are where you will hold onto the tape as you apply it. Try to avoid getting your fingers on the adhesive. 5) Place the exposed piece of fabric in about the middle of the area you want to tape, stretching it slightly (up to about 25%). Continue to work your way to the end of the strip, stretching and attaching one end at a time. Remove paper backing as you go. Do NOT stretch the last couple of inches at either end of the tape. Application of any kinesiology tape gets easier after you've done it a few times. Meanwhile, not to worry if you get a few small wrinkles during the application. There are a number of tutorials available online for correct application methods. The RockTape box also includes a handy guide for taping most areas of the body in order to derive the most benefit. In some cases, as with a meniscus tear, applying a double strip of tape horizontally over the meniscus, along with a single strip vertically on either side of the kneecap, seems to work best. (I learned this from the Knee Guru online.) The tape is a bit pricey, but you won't waste nearly as much of it during the learning process as you would with the cheap stuff.

Did not slip, slide or come off while running a marathon!
I have had a lot of pain in my inner thigh for about 4 weeks and even with rest it hasn't healed, however, I was scheduled to run the NYC marathon and I wasn't going to pass up on the opportunity. I watched a video on YouTube to figure out how to attach two strips from the groin down to the knee. I put on the tape at about 6.30am. The marathon started at 12pm. The tape stayed in place all day and I ran 26.2 miles with just a very mild pain. The race went very well and I had no issues. Three days later and the tape is still on my leg! Even after showers. I'm too nervous to rip it off as I think it's going to sting! My leg actually feels a lot better so when this does eventually come off, if my leg is still sore I will definitely be putting more on. Two thumbs up!!

Very good product
I was very skeptical about trying this, I need a knee replacement pretty much and figured nothing would work. Doesn't stop the pain but it really helps with keeping my knee from getting swollen and keeps the blood flow moving. It actually works, I don't know how but it does. Makes waking up in the morning easier, it went from being stiff and sore to getting up and going without thinking about how my knee hurts today. It stays on pretty well, I was getting about 5/7 days per tape, did workout every day. It doesn't dry to well but have to be careful when you do dry it, that's when you start to peel it and it comes off. Overall, a must buy if you are having pain or prone to swelling in that area

Best tape if you need it to stay on for a long period of time.
I am a LMT in Chicago. I use this tape to tape my arm back to my shoulder and to support my shoulder from rounding forward. It is great if you abuse your body or have posture problems because you can literally tape your limbs back on to your body and the pain goes away. It also supports healthy posture so the fascia in your body can restring itself correctly. This is the best if you need a tape that will stay on for 5 days. Get something less costly if you plan on changing it often. After 5 days, it is still on, but my skin gets itchy so I need to take it off. Tape does not adhere to itself well, so make sure you anchor on the skin, not over another piece of tape. Round the corners to prevent catching on clothing. If you need to remove it, soak it in rubbing alcohol first. I've ripped my skin off by ignoring this vital step. The videos from Rocktape and KTape are detailed and effective. No need for special training. I put it to the test. Day one, wore it to work. Day two, went biking and running and then showered afterward. Day three of tape, I was in a wet sauna, hot tub, cold pool, shower, and dry sauna at 180 degrees (yes, KingSpa) and this morning it is still stuck like the day I put it on. It doesn't even smell like chlorine, which is a mystery. Took this pic morning of day 4.

Awesome tape but does cause a rash if I leave it on too long
I love this tape, and have been getting more skilled at applying it. My healer/chiropractor started using it on me for my SI joint injury, which was pretty severe. I wear it everyday on places i need the most support and feedbsck, like my SI joints, knees, and lower back, and neck. I use regular Kinesio tape in beige for other places that I need less support and feedback. It doesnt stick to itself but does stick to regular Kinesio tape. So you can layer this over the reg stuff, but not the other way around. It lasts through showers but its really important to dry it COMPLETELY with a hairdryer (not too hot) if you leave it on for a few days and show with it. It stays on longer that way and wont itch. I recommend now showering more than once with it, or else I get a really bad rash. Make sure your skin is very dry and cooled down after a shower before taping.
