I use this pool shock on a regular basis. I ordered from Amazon, rather than buying a my local big box store for the convenience of saving myself a trip. This shock seems to work effectively and is not as expensive as some other brands.

Oh my God I was so bad this year - We ran out of chlorine during the winter... Which is usually fine because algae doesn't bloom in the winter I've noticed.... But here we are going into spring or the desert so the days are already up at like 80 to 85° so it started blooming!We've had it covered all winter with like one of those blue bubble covers - so I'm going to tell you the right way to use the shock because I see some people in the reviews complaining it's not working.Step oneBRUSH YOUR POOL! It's going to be gross because your pool is basically a nasty little swamp pond and it's going to be stinky and probably slimy but brush it and loosen up all that nasty algae.Step twoDo your best to skim it as much as you can especially around the filter inlets - Make sure your pool pump is running during brushing and skimming.Step threeSHOCK YOUR POOL! The instructions are super clear and actually tell you to do the above step number one lol I've shocked my pool before and it not work because I didn't brush it and loosen up all the crap and I was trying to get rid of.No I'm not doing anything other than that to prep the pool - I'm not balancing pH or adding any chemicals or whatever it's just nasty pond water getting agitated.In my photos you'll see in just 10 minutes the shock is already starting to change the color of the pool - I know I was shocked too.Then there's the photo of it getting more clear and that's at least 2 hours after the shock.I used a whole bag even though that's way too much for our pool because I needed to use the big guns and get it taken care of.I'll update my review when I've got the more photos to share I'm actually in the process of doing it right now those photos above are from like a couple hours before Im writing this review.

This stuff saved my pool and my sanity! I’ve spent ungodly amounts of money on different chlorines, shock treatments, algae treatments…you name it. My pool continued to get dirtier and dirtier even with my pool being “balanced”. I tried this stuff and it’s hands down the best pool chemicals I’ve used! Our chlorine stays level for most of the week. Our dirty pool has slowly returned to nearly pristine condition. Our water is always clear. Could not recommend enough!

Chlorox ultra blue is the best shock treat.,even better than the regular chlorox white shock.Cost is a bit much but worth it.

I've been battling a green pool for about a week now. I received this product and used 1 pack in my pool right away. Just over night it has brought my pretty blue pool back. 1 pouch of this and run the pump for 10-12 hours and you're ready to swim again!!!
