Feeling fancy writing with my new Dryden Luxury Fountain Pen
I've been wanting to make my journaling and other writing times feel more special, more sacred. This pen from Dryden is helping me do just that! I love the deep jewel purple color, the weight of the pen in my hand, and the sound and feel of the ink meeting the paper. I didn't realize it doesn't come with any ink at all (a follow-up email from Dryden explains that this must be shipped separately, however, I ordered the ink cartridges the next day, and Amazon just threw the tiny box into a big bubble envelope, so I'm not entirely clear on why a cartridge or two couldn't be shipped with the pen. I understand not being able to ship the pen with an ink cartridge installed out of concern for the pen becoming damaged in shipping. Also, I wish the first follow-up email included the promotional discount for my next purchase, as it came through the day after I ordered the ink. But, oh well, none of that has to do with the beauty, ease of writing, and tactile satisfaction that comes with using this instrument. It's a great value for the price. A little sample of writing luxury without a huge price tag. I recommend.

great pen for the price!
I kept getting Dryden pen sponsored ads on every page when I was looking for a specific type of fountain pen. Once I got my Waterman, I decided to splurge on a little extra EDC (every day carry, heh) pen. The first under $20 pen I purchased was a <mumblemumblemumble> that worked so poorly that the company has offered to send me a new one, so I was hesitant to try again. But, just as I was looking at the Dryden, a lightning deal came up so it was only $20, so I pulled the trigger on it. I'm so glad I did! Right out of the box, the ink flow was easy, even, and a perfect medium. (well, as close to perfect that I could tell without getting out my calipers.) Body is pleasantly heavy, and the color of the blue! Wow! Very shiny and luscious. The body shape is a nice taper, and not one of those super-fat bodies that are a bit uncomfortable (for me) to work with. The section housing the nib is metal as well, so no worries about it cracking. The lid snaps on. ink flow is a little "wet" at times, usually when I am writing slowly, but there are no stutters or uneven starts/finishes, and you don't have to find the "sweet spot" on the nib to get a good ink flow, like some I have had. All in all, this is a satisfying and pretty pen, that i can take to work and not be too fuzzed up if it "walks away" with someone. I would definitely buy this as a gift for someone.

Almost great
First, the con: This has been mentioned in another review that I saw (after it arrived and I unpacked it), in that the color is NOT metallic. It is more of a dull... Well... Not 'dull'... But... Not vibrant, and certainly not 'metallic'... purple.. It is not UNATTRACTIVE. But, it looks very different than the pics in terms of the color/metallic thing. Not like the pics of it that is in the examples... Not at all... Now that the bad stuff is out of the way, the pros: Good feel. Good heft. Not too heavy. And, for the price, the nib is SMOOTH... Without a bit of tuning, it writes very well, not to wet or dry, and glides across the paper. Not HIGH END buttery smooth (costing 20 times the price of this), but for the price it is superb. As in: The best under fifty buck pen I've used in that respect. I haven't had any issues over the days that I've been using it with leaking (as some had written a few years ago, it seems). The cap has been OK coming on and off. All good. I am sure that this would have gotten 5 stars, had it been the color/metallic that I'd been lead to believe it would be. Otherwise, it really is nice. I'm tempted to get a red one (this one had been purchased for my wife, in any case), as the review pics seem to indicate that THAT one is the correct metallic style!

Great pen at an excellent price
I purchased DRYDEN Luxury Fountain Pen [EMERALD GREEN WITH GIFT BOX] - BEST Fountain Pens Gift Set - Smooth Elegant Writing - Calligraphy - FREE Ink Refill Converter on October 18, 2019 using Amazon. The pen was delivered October 22, 2019 in perfect order. While this isn't a Visconti or a Pineider pen, of which I have both a Homo Sapiens Magma and a Pineider Night and Day these pens do write and because of the price of the pens I do not hesitate to carry them around afraid I'll loose them or break them. I am very pleased with the workmanship of this pen compared to other fountain pens that I own and it writes very good, smooth and I get a reasonable amount of usage out of the pen before I have to refill the converter. There are those who have said that you can't post the cap well. I have not found that to be an issue. Great product at an excellent price. I will have to order more in different barrel colors in the near future. Update: I now have 4 Dryden pens! I love them all except for the very first one---the plastic insert in the cap keeps coming off when I detach the pen to write. nothing big, just kinda annoying, nothing really that can't be ignored. And, it is very difficult to tell the dark blue from the purple pen without looking at both side by side.

Well-designed and great deal for the price.
These pens are well-constructed, write well and very nicely designed. For the price, these are great pens and are pretty enough to display.

It Could Have Done Better
I wanted to wait to review this pen after I have tried it out for a while and overall, I have to say that I am disappointed. I will start with the positives. The pen is beautifully crafted. It writes wonderfully, is easy to hold and makes writing something as simple as a shopping list feel luxurious. The design and little details such as the company name on it is amazing. I have even gotten a fair share of compliments when using this pen! I have written with it for hours without my hand cramping like it would with a traditional pen or pencil. The pen is beautifully and solidly built for the most part. But a major problem for me and other customers here, is the ink. As you can see from my pictures, it leaks quite a lot. Sometimes even randomly. It hasn't been a one time occasion either. I would hold the pen and randomly see ink smears on my hand and palm. When I even took off the cap, the nib would be almost drenched in ink to the point where I would have to get a napkin and pat most of it away. I emailed the CEO personally and told him about the problem. I will give him props, he gave me tips and pointers on how to fix the issue. I did the steps he suggested, but the ink afterwards had trouble flowing to the nib. The problem stopped for a few days, but then reappeared. Too much ink would flow out of the pen at times when I write and leave the nib and my hands covered with ink. The pen is wonderful in all honesty. It makes writing a joy to do, but with it's ink flowing problems, I would have to give it 3 stars. The design saved it from being 2. At this price point, the pen isn't worth it. Do I regret my choice in buying it? Not really. Like I said, it writes well and looks amazing. The company just needs to fix this ink problem.

Slim Metal fountain Pen
Not really a lot to say. The pen is quite slim with a heavyish feel (all metak) Simple design, decent nib which flows well from the get go. Cap is a good fit and shouldnt fall off. I find the pen a bit unblanced to write with when the cap is attached to the end of the pen in use, but, again, the fit is very good. Well built inexpensive pen.

Decent quality, happy - feminine- colour fountain pen
Love the happy colour choices, such as this pink and the weight felt good. What I don't like is the feeling of the ridge before the nib against my fingers but it's a common problem.

Wonderful product and company
The pen is beautiful in both function and appearance. Does not come with ink, but that just means you can load it with whatever colour you want. There was one issue with a small black cap coming off the back of the barrel, but it had no affect on the function of the pen. The company was more than willing to hear my complaint and offer assistance. They care about each individual customer and about quality control.

Excellent quality in a well priced fountain pen
This fountain pen is great for cursive writing lending itself for both populating a diary as well as adding up numbers. I love red and so I bought the dangerous red, gold and black dryden fountain pen. These colors truly work together. For this price, I will buy another. What is super great is that it takes both ink refills and cartridges. Next thing, I will get me the 24-ink cartridge pack. If you are looking for an extremely well priced fountain pen, look no more. This is it.

Nice pen as long as it functions properly - very poor customer service from Dryden if it does not
This was my second Dryden pen as I was happy with the first but unfortunately, there is an issue with the cap and it does not fix to the body of the pen which means that it falls off all the time and the nib constantly dries out. I got in touch with Dryden and asked them to replace the cap. They came back to me and said that they would replace the entire pen and asked for my postal address which I duly provided even though I had provided a copy of the invoice which had my name and address on it. After a few days Dryden got back in touch with me and asked for photos showing the issue. I duly provided photos showing how the inside of the cap kept falling out and how the cap did not fix to the pen as it should when the pen was not in use. After another few days Dryden got back to me and said that they were unable to help me as they did not post to Australia even though they wuold have known this from my initial email. I think this is very poor customer service from Dryden and I am quite naturally disappointed in the outcome.
