I use these to put my hot pots or bowls on when setting off the stove or oven. These work great for small pots and pans. If you are using something like a 9x13 size you will need to order the bigger size or use two together. These are also like a honeycomb design, so that makes it a little more difficult cleaning in those small sections if you get food on them. They are very flexible so I assume you could use them as potholders also but I haven’t.
