This Zafro 8000 BTU Portable AC unit has been a game-changer for summer comfort (in Georgia, nonetheless)! Its cooling power is impressive, quickly cooling down my office and effectively cooling larger open areas (we can easily move it to the living room when needed). The airflow is strong and consistent, making a noticeable difference in comfort.What truly sets it apart is its quiet operation. It's not perfectly quiet by any means, however, compared to most window units its a night and day difference between the two.Also I do think that the 3-in-1 functionality (Cool, Dehumidifier, Fan) offers a lot of great versatility. I appreciate the easy-to-use digital display, remote control, and 24-hour timer for convenient scheduling.Installation was simple with the included hose and window kit, and the caster wheels make moving it a breeze. The washable filter is a practical bonus for maintaining air quality.While portable ACs have their limitations, the Zafro performs exceptionally well. For anyone needing an efficient, quiet, and user-friendly portable air conditioner for a bedroom, office, or small living space, this unit is highly recommended!

From initial start the temperature arrows sporadically worked. All other modes worked fine. After several attempts at trying to move the arrows up or down to adjust the cooling temperature, the machine cooked well for 3 nights. Now the temperature arrows only move between 28 and 32 degrees. Also - now when the cooling power is on and 32-28 degrees shows it’s no longer cold air - only somewhat cool. I have followed all instructions several times and have now spent hours researching and troubleshooting into and videos. I called customer service today during their hours and of course it asks to leave a voice mail for a call back tomorrow. Hopefully that happens. I am extremely disappointed in the operation and the hassle of most likely needing to box this heavy unit back up and take it somewhere (I live in a rural area) to return it. At this point I would give it zero stars. I’ll up my rating if it gets taken care of.

I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews, it was easy to set up, blows cool air, it gets quite cold for me. I could see if you’re trying to use it for a big space why it wouldn’t work, but it works great for a bedroom/office!The buttons are very sensitive which can be annoying if you reach over it, but comes with a remote so not a huge issue. I have a tall window so the window gap cover worked just fine for me and fit well. I live in the PNW so I can’t say how well it works for extremely hot temps but for 85 degree days it has cooled me down well.The only qualm I have is it is louder than expected. I don’t particularly mind since I always sleep with a fan on, but if you are sensitive to noise this might be an issue. I don’t notice a difference with the sleep setting turned on.I had to make it a bit taller by stacking it on a milk crate because the cool air was hitting the base of my bed but it hasn’t had any problems being on top of it. I don’t have it on continuously but they recommend constant drainage if you are doing so, so far I’ve drained it once which was a bit difficult as the water spewed everywhere.It’s on the cheaper side of AC units so overall it’s not going to be “state of the art” but for the money I paid I’m happy with it and I would recommend to anyone needing to cool their bedrooms for short periods of time.

Staying nice and cool. Easy to install, clean the filter and empty the drain every couple of weeks, no problem, would buy again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:My room is smaller than the stated range but it never cools the room enough to turn off automatically so my electric bill tripled last month.. It DOES work to keep my cool in my room but I think I need something more energy efficient or maybe I'm not using it correctly. Do I need to drain the liquid? Any tips for using it in a way that doesn't triple my electric bill?

My AC broke for a month and this was an affordable option that really saved me. It got my space as cool as I wanted it and kept it that way. It has to be set up with a vent out of the window so it did allow in road noise, but I taped it as well as I could so no bugs or water come in. It does turn off when the room reaches set temperature and will turn back on if temperature gets higher than that, which is good, but it’s pretty loud when that happens. When you’re in need of a cool room it does a great job.

This has been a lifesaver for us. My toddler suffers from night terrors, but thankfully after lots of tips and tricks from other NT victim’s parents, lots of trial and error (and even more sleepless nights), and LOADS of worry, I’ve discovered that a cold room (along with other factors) SIGNIFICANTLY reduces his episodes. With summer coming on like a hot hurricane, I’m able to keep his room cool without having to run the a/c for the entire house, thereby greatly reducing my electric bill. It’s quiet enough that he can sleep peacefully through it, and the “lock” feature ensures he won’t change the setting on me, because, ya know, buttons are fun for little boys!! So thankful to have found this economic solution!

Doesn’t cool room down efficiently, just blows room temperature air. Unit freezes up every 5 minutes. Customer support answers but gives you the run around about replacement part. China made product. Not durable or reliable. Choose something different preferably American made B&D.
