Soft Empire Carryall 28

I’ve been wanting the Coach Empire 28 in merlot ever since the first merlot bag was dropped. The bag arrived factory wrapped and in perfect condition. It is the soft, Genuine Full Grain Leather and the quality is impeccable. It’s an absolute beauty, the size is perfect for everyday, it holds all of my essentials and some extras. The color is subtly burnished, but not as dramatic as the 40 and 48 sizes. Note that Amazon has combined reviews that include a version with the middle compartment. For the Empire collection, depending on the size and color, the type of leather could be different (glovetanned leather vs full grain leather) and the design could be different (middle compartment vs fully zippered).

I love this bag — it’s beautiful, well-made, and exactly what I expected from Coach. The size is perfect, the leather feels high quality, and the design is timeless. I have no complaints at all. Highly recommend this bag if you’re considering it.

Bought this in “used-good condition” because it was the only one I could find & COACH mentioned not knowing if they would restock. It was $70 cheaper than the brand new price so I was nervous about the quality but it came in PERFECT condition! All tags and wrappings still on, and even a dust bag included. The color is beautiful & leather is so soft. A bit smaller than what I’m used to but still able to fit what I need. A stunning, classic Coach bag I plan to have forever!

I think this is the perfect bag. It is a great size. Not too big. Holds a lot without looking bulky or frumpy. It has a simple elegance to it. It looks and feel luxury without the price tag. The leather is soft and malleable. the top handles are a great drop and the handles are thin and a great feel to it for smaller hands. Might feel a bit thin for bigger or stronger grip ladies. If you are into quiet luxury and simple elegance, this is a great bag. There is a small gold foil branding. There is a long strap for shoulder or crossbody. I do not think this bag is a good look for that. It is good for top handle carry. The hands are long enough to comfortably to arm carry. I bought it the honey brown and black.

This is such a cute bag! If you love the empire style but feel like the 40 or 48 size is too big this is the perfect bag for you. the leather is just as squishy and soft like the larger style to get that slight slouch but at the same time still holds its structure! The quality on this bag is amazing for the price point and the bag is quite spacious. I can fit all my daily essentials in here plus a water bottle and my AirPods Max. I like how you can carry it as a top handle bag or crossbody. Such a cutie little bag and looks even better with bag charms!

Right out of the packaging, this bag was underwhelming. It felt unusually light—more like an unlined tote than a proper purse—which immediately set off alarms. At this price point, I expected a substantial, well-structured bag, not something that feels flimsy in hand. To make matters worse, it lacked that signature rich leather scent, making me question the material quality altogether. The real deal-breaker? The dimensions were completely off. The base barely measures 11 inches, while the widest point is about 14 inches, making it far smaller than advertised. This drastically reduces its functionality, and the items I intended to carry simply won’t fit. For a brand like Coach, this was a letdown. It feels like a product that leans heavily on marketing rather than quality. Definitely not worth it.

This has been the bag I grab the most often for the winter season. Great size for all your essentials plus toddler snacks. Looks polished and the Merlot burgundy is a beautiful color. Convenient crossbody carry. This is especially good for petite ladies who want something from the empire family.

This Merlot color is stunning! The Coach Empire 28 is the perfect daily wear bag from the Empire line. The leather is so soft and supple. It comes with a crossbody strap and you can also carry as a hand or arm bag. The quality of the full grain leather is superb and the price of this bag makes sense for what you’re getting. I truly love the Empire 28 and I’m happy to see they will be releasing a new Navy color. I also have this is Honey Brown and Black.
