Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070XT OC Gaming Edition with RGB 16GB GDDR6, HDMI 3xDP, AMD RDNA 4 RX-97TRGBBBA

I’ve been running the XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT OC Gaming Edition in my new Ryzen 9 9800X3D build for two months now. The card runs flawlessly on factory settings (no manual overclocking), delivering stable, high-end performance across modern titles. Thermals are excellent. Idle temps stay under 40°C, and even in Cyberpunk 2077 (Ultra settings, FSR 3 enabled), it stays around 60°C. The triple-fan cooler and massive heatsink from XFX do serious work here—quiet, efficient, and cool under pressure. The ARGB is clean, syncs easily, and doesn’t require any bloated software. Build quality is solid—this is a beefy card with real thermal headroom and a sturdy feel. It fits well into a high-performance build and doesn’t feel like it’s cutting corners. That said, the price is a real drawback. The MSRP for a standard RX 9070 XT is $599.99, but this OC version comes in at $899.99. That’s a $300 markup for a factory OC, bigger cooler, and RGB. On top of that, I bought through a third-party seller and paid an extra $60 shipping due to demand. While performance is roughly on par with the 5070 Ti, the value just doesn’t hold up at that price point. For contrast, I also picked up an RX 9060 XT (3-fan version) for my 2018 Intel system, upgrading from a GTX 1080. That only cost me $50 over its $349.99 MSRP—and honestly, it felt like a far better value for mid-tier 1440p gaming. Cool, quiet, and perfectly matched for that older rig. And yeah, I now regret skipping the RX 7900 XTX. Back in 2024, it dropped to $799—$200 below its official $999 MSRP. Now, in 2025, it’s floating around $1,200 due to limited supply and rising demand. For what I paid for this 9070 XT OC, I could’ve had a 7900 XTX with better raw performance and more VRAM—and still come out ahead. Sure, I’d be giving up FSR 4 support—but let’s be honest, most current games still run on FSR 3, so I’m probably not missing much. The real loss is just timing. Could’ve had flagship-tier raster performance for less money. That one hurts. At this point, I’m planning to hold out for the 9080 XT/X or 9090 XT/X, once RDNA 5 has matured and pricing normalizes. Maybe around 2027, when the dust settles and the early-adopter tax fades, I’ll make the next big jump. Bottom line: The XFX 9070 XT OC is a strong GPU—cool, stable, and well-built—but its $899.99 price tag drags it down. It pairs well with high-end CPUs like the 9800X3D and delivers smooth gaming out of the box, but performance-per-dollar just doesn’t stack up. If you can wait or catch a better deal, do it. I wish I had. That said, in the context of today’s market, it’s not the worst deal. We’ve seen this trend grow since the “RTX tax” hit with the 2080 Ti—what used to be a $500 premium card in 2012 now easily breaks $1,000. If you're eyeing a 5080 or 5090? You’re looking at $2,000 to $3,000 easily. Against that backdrop, the 9070 XT OC’s $899 doesn’t look quite as insane—just mildly painful instead of laughably brutal.

Upgraded from XFX 7800 Merc and wow, the performance uplift is great! After having the last series Mercury line i had to have this one and the cooling, noise level is even better than the last. It's very well made, you can tell right when you pick it up from the box the quality is top notch. Consistent power draw and OC capabilites if that's your thing. And I mean c'mon, just look how sleek this card is! The RGB cable is very well hidden by the mount, cant even notice it in my picture and RGB can be controlled same as any other device in your PC. Currently running AAA titles Ultra settings, RT Max and getting stable fps 100+ easily @1440p Measure your case before purchasing, this card is very large but it's great trade off for the cooling performance. My only gripe was thinking it was too expensive when it was around $800. Oh well i got it now and couldn't be happier. (Note: This is after one month of purchase & use)

The performance on this thing is really amazing when compared to the 5080, especially given the price difference. My 5080 was an Asus TUF OC edition, which ran about $1400. I returned it for this, and honestly I don’t miss it at all. I get great frame rates in all my games, amazing graphics quality, etc. all for half the price. It has enough power for running AI models locally as well, and while not as performant as CUDA, AMD has come a long way. I do notice a small difference in certain games on max settings, where the 5080 rendered the scenes with more vibrant colors and better lighting. However, it is nothing major and certainly not worth double the price. I just wish they would implement the single cable 12VHPWR power connector for this thing instead of requiring 3 PCIe 8 pin inputs. Check your PSU before you buy! I ended up having to get an adapter so that I could get 2 8 pin inputs from the 12VHPWR connector on my PSU, since I didn’t have enough 8 pin power connectors free. I think AMD may have beaten Nvidia here, unless you need CUDA or Nvenc for development specific tasks. Great GPU!

I love the card and it's a huge uplift for me because I had a 6900xt that was having some trouble to play some of my games on max settings and I love ray tracing but it could hardly do it. But the 9070xt oc does it with ease and it stays cool because of the cooling fins being a bit bigger and spread out. The only con that I have at the moment is the drivers not being good and the price being so high becauseof scalpers, but other than that I would recommend this card when the price goes back to MSRP.

Great GPU! XFX, MSI, and Sapphire are the only GPU brands I trust when it comes to making AMD GPU's. XFX GPU's look and work awesome. I've had bad experiences with PowerColor, stick to these brands.

A High Quality GPU with perfect performance in Full HD and Quad HD. Its easy to install, however, its size make it hard to fit in smaller cases. This video card has not heated whatsoever even in full usage.

The GPU itself is fine, it works, if you're lucky. This is a review for when you get a faulty unit. The first GPU I received had an issue causing frequent driver crashes, both in windows and in linux. So I got an RMA with XFX themselves, they claimed they couldn't find an issue but sent me a replacement anyways for peace of mind. The unit I received in return had heavy cosmetic damage and when I brought this issue up, I was told I could clean the scratch with a magic eraser. Yes tell me use something that'll sand away the plastic material to fix a cosmetic smudge. Then proceeded to tell me that I attacked them and insulted them for trying to fix the issue. I was nothing but cordial with the reprisentative. This isn't even the first card from them that I got that they claim works perfectly but crashed frequently. Including pictures of the damage on the card they sent me. Avoid this brand because if you have an issue, you'll get treated like crap. XFX if you read this, fire Mark.

Bought at 929$ - 30$ amazon customer service appeasement for a final price of 899.99$. First 10$ after the first order got lost or never left and delivery kept being pushed back, second and third after they promised it would definitely arrive but didn't and I had them reorder but again issues occurred as they couldn't reorder with the additional 30$ discount. First time having issues like these but it all worked out and with units this expensive, every 30$ counts! Came from a 7800xt. 9070 XT is quiet and cool....very cool. Doesn't get passed 52C under load for hours. The vram temp is a bit hight but stays under 84C under again heavy load. Hotspot is in between at 70C. Didn't win the lottery on this one, modest -45 uv and vram a little better at 2714. Temps don't really change it's cool enough at 50 anyways. Tried OC as well and no performance difference....at all. So uv and vram good enough. I wanted a 5070 TI TUF for it's beefy cooler (I care about cooling) but numbers didn't make sense. At its cheapest it was 1169$. Tldr: -Bought for 899$. -Average 50C under load. Quiet, only fan noise. -UV, vram oc and pl at max (+10%) give a nice performnce boost. -OC gpu doesn't change performance. -Vram average temp under load 82C. -Hot spot 68C. -Temps dont change even with aggressive 2714 vram. With or without undervolt, default fan curve. -Don't buy for over 960$ canadian before tax.

Très bonne carte graphique, très grande attention au boitier, épaisse mais silencieuse. (comparé à mon ancienne 3080 gaming trio) Test depuis une semaine, en particulier sur ark ascended non optimisé et elle tourne en ultra QHD1440 sans problème , 55-60 degré , réglage simple pour le moment dans adrénaline ne connaissant pas encore le logiciel. Le RGB est relier par un câble a brancher sur la carte donc bien prévoir un passage lors de l'installation.

Habe mir diese Karte zu release für einen nicht zu harten Preis gekauft entgegen den übertrieben Preisen die manch ein Händler hier auf Amazon verlangt hat. Ich habe die Karte von "Neuronias Radicais" bekommen, da habe ich zu spät bemerkt, dass Sie aus dem Ausland kam, jedoch zügig innerhalb einer Woche. Aber ich wurde nicht enttäuscht, denn die Grafikkarte kam allen falschen Behauptungen entgegen unversehrt und ungeöffnet an. Vielen Dank an den Händlern für den Top-Preis und die schnelle Lieferung. Bei euch würde ich auch in Zukunft gerne noch kaufen. Zur Grafikkarte selbst: Sie läuft super kühl, kann aber auch sehr laut werden, abhängig von der aufgewandten Leistung. Alles in allem bin ich super happy, jedoch bedarf es wohl noch ein Paar Treiberupdates und fixes.
