This is my third scooter purchase. I’ve been riding it for 600 miles since February so I know this scooter very well. It should have been my first scooter. This scooter is great for the daily commute. I commute 4 miles each way and it gets me there in 11 minutes and that includes a couple of major intersections with long traffic lights. I weigh 260lbs and 5’11” and after 8 miles round trip I still have 40% battery life. So at my size I could go around 12 miles on a full battery. I get there faster than in my car. It’s smooth, stable and fast. I have to park it outside at work and the “find my” and tamper alarms keep it secure. It’s substantial in size and weight but you need that at higher speeds. Stand on scooters are better than bicycles and motorcycles. You can ride these where others can’t go. If something gets in your way, the breaks are great at stopping you fast and if you needed to get off of it you just step off. It’s much easier and safer than if you are straddling a bicycle. It takes about two weeks of daily use to become completely comfortable and skilled at maneuvering but it’s not scary to learn at all (maybe the first time you step on it). The cons. The Bluetooth doesn’t stay connected and the tires lost air in the beginning. I fixed it by adding sealant and overfilling with air. Now they stay up for weeks with just small additions now and then. I highly recommend this scooter is great. After getting comfortable, I wish I had another 10mph for riding in traffic but was surprised that at 28mph I’m keeping up with rush hour traffic. It’s fun and like getting an extra paycheck every month in savings. One more thing. I have only had to use uber a few times due to weather which surprised me but I’m thrilled. Buy this scooter. You will not regret it.

I am someone who never writes reviews, as I don’t believe that any product lives up to its hype. I absolutely LOVE my Segway Scooter for many different reasons. It is by far the most durable scooter that I have ridden. I ended up in an accident with the scooter, and it was very minimally damaged compared to the force that it took. As a college student, I use it as my daily driver to work and school. Here are a couple of things that you should know - 1. The advertised range for this scooter is 50 Miles total. This is only if you are very light and use the scooter in its eco mode. The real world range of this scooter is closer to 12-15 Miles total. 2. The scooter’s software is amazing, but limiting. The scooter does not automatically go 28 MPH - it is a setting that you have to enable in the scooters app (which is dubbed in Chinese). 3. This scooter is extremely fun and safe to ride. It has turn signals, break lights, and an extremely bright headlight that is brighter than a normal car’s headlight. 4. It is worth the $1000 price tag listed on Amazon. I would reccomend this scooter to anyone who has a commute within 1-5 miles, as it can make it there and back. Use this thing on bike lanes to maximize the top speed of 28 MPH. Overall, I love my scooter. It’s a beast.

Original review: (1month 100 mile update below..... AND a bonus 531+ review below that!) Just got my scooter today (4/1/2025). I'm 260 lbs with full gear on on this scooter and I took it for a max distance test (once it was charged to 100%). I kept it at the full 28 MPH on a bike trail (all paved road) that was a 14 mile round trip. I ended my ride with 5% battery left. I kept the throttle pushed down the entire ride and it stayed strong until I got below 20%. Around there my speed started to drop. Once I got under 10% my max speed was around 10-11 mph. By the time I got home with <5% My max speed was about 7 MPH. I will say though the app is and instruction manual is riddled with minor spelling and grammar mistakes... I don't think they had a native english speaker go over any of the material or the app itself. The new rider video the app makes you watch is TERRIBLE. The instructions fly by in the blink of an eye so you have no clue what they are trying to show you. Next I think the scooter isn't fully tuned software wise yet. I actually think my old Niu KQI3 pro rides better (better throttle response, regen breaking etc) which are all things the segway can fix in updates later. I'm definitely still satisfied though - I felt very safe and stable on this much faster scooter than I do on my Niu. I got easily more range and waaaaay more power. This is the perfect commuter and I can't wait for the extended battery to come out in July. UPDATE 4/26/25 (and there's a 531+ mile review below this!!!) This is a 100 mile update. The scooter is still fantastic and I feel very safe on it already I've hit pot holes at 28 mph that I'm sure would have taken me out on a lesser scooter without suspension but this is able to handle them. 10/10 I will buy another one of anything happens to this scooter. You literally can't beat this for the price it's impossible. I constantly get 15 miles of range with 240+ lbs (lost about 20 lbs go me) at max speed on this thing which gets me to work faster than if I drove a car. It's hilarious to me zooming 28 mph over speed bumps that care have to take at 10-15 mph and I barley even feel the bump meanwhile if a car tries to keep up with me they are bottoming out their car. Earlier in my review I mentioned how this thing kind of feels untuned because the throttle didn't really feel as responsive as my old scooter but I figured out it was the traction control which on my opinion kind of sucks. Any bump you hit pot uneven road the throttle significantly slows down for a second then when you hit flat ground again it kicks back on... It really makes for an inconsistent ride so I turned it off and wow it feels so much better. Please wear safety gear on this thing - I wear a full riding jacket with armor padding, gloves, and a highly rated full helmet that covers the face. Protect yourselves out there. 530+ mile review update and last update. 6/12/25: I've been using this as my daily commuter for work and groceries since it launched (I preordered). This has been absolutely perfect for all my needs. I can easily hang 20+ lbs of groceries, and I've even transported a full size bicycle balanced on the stem for 15 miles. Speaking of range, as. 230+ lb adult man I've loaded well over 300 total lbs on this and in my personal experience I've still always been able to get a minimum of 15 miles of range (no extended battery, that's not been released yet). I always ride in sport mode and hold the throttle down at all times. I do use Regen braking some times ... But honestly I'm usually trying to go fast so I'll use the hand braking more often than not - it's possible I could get maybe 1 more miles of range if I used Regen braking more but I prefer going full speed and doing faster stops with hand brakes. My normal commute to work is 9.1 miles - due to red lights/stop signs, highway/rush hour traffic in My car it takes between 22-40 minutes to get to work if I start the timer from literally the moment I leave my door to the moment I touch the door to work (door to door). On the scooter though I ALWAYS get to work on 21 minutes regardless of what time or what day I go. Construction zones, traffic, rush hour, holidays? None of that matters I get to work on 21 minutes on the scooter! This is so friggin worth it. I also wear full gear while on this, I'm talking motorcycle helmet and jacket with gloves and a backpack to toss all the gear into when I arrive to work. The scooter is easily light enough I don't mind picking it up one handed like a brief case and it's so easy to bring the charger to work and plug it in where ever you can. As far as grocery stores I usually just keep my gear on but hang my helmet on a handle and walk the scooter through the stores. I've never been stopped in a grocery store about the scooter and I just use the pre-installed hook on the scooter to hang groceries and while shopping I use the scooter itself as my cart. I place groceries on the deck of the scooter while I shop. So yeah - I think given that it's been 2 months and 500 miles I'll probably do around 3000 miles/year on this scooter. Saving 3000 miles worth of gas and wear/tear on my car. I'll also save approximately 10-20 minutes on every commute to and from work per day so for me and my use case I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and I think the 900 has already paid for itself or is at least on the way to paint for it self within the year. As for my experience over the 500 Miles, I've had two near misses, one was my fault taking a turn too wide and another was from another driver just not paying attention, but in either case I will say this scooter can brake SOOOOO fast with its dual hydrologic disk brakes you can easily literally lock up your wheels and come to a fast stop. The accident that would have been the other drivers fault was an Amazon truck which blew a stop sign ( probably woulda been a nice insurance pay out to me...) but I care about my body and integrity lol so yeah I came to a full stop and just gave them the look of shame and moved on - this scooter is super safe compared to the cheap stuff out there- and the suspension is like literally live saving.... The bumps and pot holes of Portland Oregon would easily have taken me out on a lesser scooter but this has always kept me safe and rolling even when I hit them at the full 28 mph. Please be safe out there and wear gear - get a FULL helmet with good safety standards and tests, you only have one life.

The rear tire was defective, it was unable to hold onto any air, making the scooter unsafe and dangerous to ride. I rode the scooter only twice in the first month I had it while I was waiting for a new helmet, so I didn't fully realize the problem until two days after the return window closed. To say that Segway's customer support was unhelpful is a huge understatement. Despite photos and videos, they would not confirm if this unsafe manufacturing defect was covered by warranty, only stating that it "might be possible." They options they gave me were they could send me a new tire or I could go to "nearest" authorized repair shop. So I googled how to change the rear tire on the Max G3. This repair was described as "notoriously challenging" requiring disassembling the whole motor. I'm not handy or mechanically inclined and should not have to undertake a "notoriously challenging" repair on a brand new device (much less entrust my safety to it). As for the "nearest" repair shop, according to Segway, they will not provide any logistical support if an authorized repair shop is within 20 miles. Well, I live in NYC and I don't have a car (like most NYers). The "nearest" repair shop is an hour an a half away from me on the subway (while carrying a 55lbs scooter), each way! According to that repair shop, repairs cannot be done same day, and they can't say whether its warranty covered or not (because Segway is difficult to deal with). So that would require me to go on 6 hours (!!!) of travel, with no idea whether Segway would even honor the warranty. So I guess it's an expensive but ok scooter if you get one that works. Don't expect any support from Segway if you don't.

The finish and appearance is very refined and pleasing astetically. The ride and size of the scooter is very comfortable for any adult, might be too large for anyone under 5' tall so this would be a good choice for a child. Has plenty of power to propel a 200+lb rider up steep hills. The ground clearance was most surprising to me, it can straddle most parking blocks for reference. The 11" tires and suspension soften up those surprise bumps and potholes. At higher speeds it pretty much handles like a motorcycle, just lean it to make turns. Do like the throttle design as you can use it with your thumb or twist. The built in charger and relatively light weight of 52lbs make it very portable. Any ladies that are interested and concerned about the weight my wife can load it in her 4R, all about technique, lift from the front and place the tire in the hatch then lift the rear and slide it on in. The lights are nice and visible day and night. Only complaint so far is the app could use some updating, for instance battery temp will only show in Celsius and we wish it would track your rides and goce stats. Also wish the courtesy lights were RGB so you could customize the color. Other gripe might be the lack of room on the handle bars for accessories like phone and cup holders.

(Originally posted 03/30/2025) I’m primarily comparing this to the G2 as this is the latest in the G line. I personally think Segway knocked this update out of the park. It’s all pros and I can’t really find any cons besides the price hike and maybe the increase in complexity on the front end(which can be a potential drawback). Also the navigation, but I’ll get to that. So, a lot of the pros are obvious ones that they mention here in the advert, but some of the not so obvious ones are the ones I want to go over. When I first saw this design I was a little bummed by the handlebar design, thinking that is was a proprietary design and i wouldn’t be able to use my quadlock. However, it’s not a one off size, there’s just rubber spacers to make it look thicker, thankfully that just pulls right off and it’s a standard 7/8” bar that works fine with most products and phone holders(see pic, you can see the right spacer is removed where I installed the quadlock). Next think I want to touch on is that not only is the headlamp brighter, it’s also adjustable. I don’t know why they left that out as it’s a pretty great feature(see pic of the side of the headlight). Another thing they changed, that I feel is for the better, is the throttle is not just a thumb throttle, but rather a thumb/split throttle. In other words, you can use it like a thumb throttle or kinda like a standard twist throttle. The screen is nice and EVERYTHING IS COMPUTER, but I personally wouldn’t use their navigation as i prefer my navigation on my phone(I’ve actually come to like Apple Maps). I’m sure their navigation will improve over time and maybe the turn by turn directions on the display will be useful eventually. But as of right now I see no real use for it. You may want to order some 3M protective film to protect the screen. Some other nice features that I immediately fell in love with is the airlock feature. It’s pretty awesome and I highly recommend you set that up right away. Boost is awesome and VERY powerful for a machine with such a short wheelbase. I have to Max G2s, and I have experience with various sport bikes(2008 CBR600RR, 2015 Yamaha R1, 2018 CBR1000RR) at the track. Maybe it was because I just wasn’t expecting much based on their description. 0-15mph in 2.4 seconds is not that fast sounding. I’ve ridden 0-60 in 2.1. But it just hits different on a scooter… let me say this thing almost made me look like a fool(I wish my security camera caught it, but it was just out of view). I activated boost, went to hit the throttle and nothing happened… I think this was before I turned on zero start… anyways I gave it a lil kick and casually gave it the beans… my stance was not good… the front immediately came up and I was 🤏 close to looping it. 😅 moral of the story is be careful, this thing has juice. The battery is only 47ish WH bigger that the G2, but the motor is twice the size, so if you’re heavy on the throttle at max power, you can expect less mileage than the G2. Doesn’t really bug me, but if commuting is your plan then maybe a G2 or the new F3 would be better. Maybe… Also, the deck height is about an inch higher on the G3 putting it at about 9” with 5” of ground clearance. The G2 is about 8” with 4.5” of ground clearance. Both measured without mounting. I’m selling my G2… or maybe I’ll give it to a family member. I’m keeping our other G2 for the wife. Overall, I really like this scooter.

AS A KID i think this is amazing and a must have vehicle. the app is fun. you ca make custom sounds, it goes fast. and my whole family likes it. its heavy but very durible and easy to travel with. it foldes very easliy, the battery last forever, the attachmets are cheap, like phone holders or side view mirrors. ok that was my review, YOU SHOULD BY THIS

Calidad increíble, excelente producto bien ensamblado, velocidad muy alta, aunque existen scooters de más velocidad, 45km/h en este es más que suficiente, viene limitado a 32 km/h, pero en la app en el apartado de “Personalizar velocidad en cada modo” puedes deslizarlo en el apartado Sport+, muy muy satisfecho y ampliamente recomendado
