Quality disc drive, great looks too
As with most PCs nowadays, the lack of a cd or dvd drive doesn’t help if you have a lot of them from over the years. This worked a treat for getting old pictures and music copied over. I previously spent time putting everything on a removable hard drive, only for it to fail to power up. So maybe the old tech is still worth its keep. Seen a few cheaper models but this one seems to be of better quality and looks better too. Seemless pairing to PC and no software required with the windows 11 system. Would buy again if needed.

Works perfectly with my M1 Mac Mini
I've been ripping my CDs and finding that my old Apple SuperDrive couldn't read quite a few of them. I decided to try the ASUS SDRW-08U9M-U to see if it was any better. Happy to say it made short work of every one of the CDs my old drive couldn't read - perfect. And it rips CDs way faster too. And it works without a hitch on my M1 Mac mini. No special software or settings required - just plug and play. The only downside is it feels quite lightweight and flimsy, and it's not especially quiet in operation. But seeing as I'm only using it to occasionally rip CDs, I don't really care. For the price it's a steal.

Get what you pay for
Bought a cheaper drive from elsewhere first, not good. Bought the Asus and it works perfectly. Delivery and packaging also very good. Would recommend both the drive and the seller.
