desertcart.com: Flying Pig Double Motor High Performance Dog Pet Grooming Dryer -Magenta : Pet Supplies Review: High end professional blow dryer - I have never owned a dog dryer before. First off, this thing is super, super heavy. You don't have to worry about it moving around and falling over while you're using it. With that said, I made the mistake of turning this one without having hold of the hose. At first, everything was fine. I heard the motor turn on first. I guess no air was coming out during this short start up time. But then when the air kicked in and started blowing, mayhem broke loose. My two pups are 7 and 13 pounds. Unfortunately, they were standing close when the blower kicked in. I had turned it on high, not knowing what to expect. This thing went crazy. It was blowing so hard that the hose started whipping around everywhere, going along with the very loud motor that was running. My dogs flipped out. They started screaming like someone was trying to kill them. They're scratching around on the hardwood floors, not moving, because their little feet were moving so fast they couldn't get traction to get away from it. The smaller one made the mistake of getting too close to it in his rush to get away, and it actually touched him. I didn't think he could scream any louder than he already was, but boy was I wrong. By the time they both managed to get away from it and into the bedroom under the bed, I was laughing hysterically (of course, I was feeling terrible for laughing at all, but literally couldn't help myself) and couldn't even go to comfort them for a couple of minutes because I had to get control of myself. So, any-who's...... Lesson learned: when turning this dryer on, start with the low setting and have hold of the hose. My dogs were under my bed for at least an hour before they trusted me enough to come out after that whole start up experience. Now when I pull this out, they automatically run from it. I can't even use it as of now. But I'm going to keep working on it and trying to get them acclimated to the sound of it. That's really what scared them the most. Because this thing is incredibly powerful. It truly is a professional grade dryer. On the low setting, it would easily dry my little ones in a matter of minutes (one is short haired and one is curly/wire haired). The high setting would dry a large dog with long hair and a thick undercoat in no time at all. It comes with a long hose and an even longer power cord, so you can move this around and use it wherever is convenient for you. There are three different end attachments for the nozzle included, along with instructions. It also comes with two additional filters. While you're cleaning and drying one set, the other one can be used. It's very convenient. Honestly, even though my dogs are terrified of it as of now, I would highly recommend this for any grooming business or for home use. Just take my advise and go slow and low with the intros, so you don't traumatize your dog(s) like I did. I cannot even fathom trying to use this on a cat, so do that at your own risk. Review: Quiet. Good value professional dryer. - As a professional groomer, I really like this dryer in every aspect except for the hose size. My hands are not small but I do have carpal tunnel and the hose is too big. I got hand fatigue. It’s challenging to hold it for a long time. If I don’t have hand issues, I would definitely be keeping this dryer. The noise is considered significantly ‘quieter’ than K9 dryer. Doesn’t have heat option but the air will get warmer over time from the motors. For home use, I highly recommend that you put some sort of hearing protection on your dog and start on low.

Quiet. Good value professional dryer.

Heavy and very very powerful
This thing is heavy and seems to be very durable. I have seen several products from the Flying Pig and I almost got one of their washing stations for my dogs that are always dirty and wanted to be able to give them a wash instead of taking them to the groomers every month. For the price of this one item I would take my dogs to the groomer 5 times to get my money back. It is very heavy, or did I already say that! It is very powerful, a lot more than what I was expecting. Most other dog blowers are super cheap and plastic, this is not one of those things. I turned it to the lowest setting and the thing turned on and it spins up before starting to blow, and even on the lowest setting it kicks out a tremendous amount of air. My youngest dog doesn't mind it at all and actually I have to calm her down because she wants to play, the older dog doesn't even like vacuum noises so she is a little leary of it. But after some coaxing she came over and let me try it on her. This thing will dry your dogs hair so much faster than I anticipated. The setting on high is very powerful and neither of them liked it that high of a setting. It is noisy as well, even on the lowest setting. But I will take that for every pennies worth with the amount of time the dogs have to actually sit there and get fully dry. Highly recommend

Professional quality drying
After years of battling my double-coated Aussie's post-bath marathons with a regular human dryer (and ending up with a wet dog AND sore arms), I finally ordered this Flying Pig blower. The price point isn't cheap, but it's definitely worth every penny. First impression: this thing is HEAVY and built like a tank. The magenta color is fun, but make no mistake - this is serious equipment. When I first fired it up, I nearly blew my 40-pound Aussie across the room. Even on the lowest setting, it puts out hurricane-force winds. Drying time has been cut from 45+ minutes of frustration to about 10 minutes of efficient work. It gets right down to the undercoat, which means no more damp spots hours later. The different nozzle attachments are actually useful for different coat areas. Two warnings: 1) It's LOUD. Wear ear protection and introduce your dog slowly. 2) Store it somewhere accessible - at this weight, you won't want to be lugging it up from the basement every bath time. Overall, expensive but worth it if you're tired of wet dog smell lingering for days after bath time.

powerful and reliable
I bought this double motor grooming dryer in magenta for my thick coated dog. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was built tough. The metal body feels solid, and the hose is long, flexible, and easy to work with. What impressed me most is the power. The dual motors blow out serious airflow it dries my dog way faster than any dryer I’ve used before. I used to dread bath days because drying took forever, but now it’s actually manageable. The airflow is strong enough to get through a double coat, and I love that I can adjust the speed and heat to make it comfortable for my pup. It’s surprisingly not as loud as I expected for something so powerful. My dog was a little hesitant at first, but she got used to it quickly. The attachments snap on easily though I learned to double check the locking ring so they stay put. If you have a large dog or one with a thick coat and you're tired of long dry times, this dryer is absolutely worth the investment. It’s made bath time so much easier for both of us.

Needlessly Noisy Bathtime or Small Dogs w/ Hair, Not Fur!
This item's turned out to be a case of overkill -- both from my point of view as well as that of my beloved little mixed breed shih-tzu/coton de tutelar service dog. Speaking for myself acting in the role of groomer, this gizmo's simply more machine than we need for her light fluffy coat of hair: once she's been bathed, wrapped up like a burrito in a thirsty bath towel, and had a few more minutes rolling around, all my dog really needs is a few minutes' blast of the warm air setting of my hand held human hair blow dryer and she's good to go! As for my dog Gracie, she seems really annoyed I didn't screen the other buyers' video reviews of this product before impulsively ordering this gizmo because it simply makes far too much noise for my dog's acutely sensitive hearing.

Technically would call it 3.5 stars.. regardless.. still not to be sneezed at.
First off.. I feel wrong for rating this kinda low. While it does pack a punch in terms of power, that's also why I've rated it the way I have. Flying pig is one of the go to brands for pet grooming pros. Usually when pros use something, it makes it a lot easier to trust. All I can say is that, I have no clue how it's used commercially. I can't imagine being able to keep someone else's pet calm and comfortable at a commercial facility while using this as my go to drying method when it scared the you know what out of our family dog when I tried to use it after bathing him in the comfort of our own home. I previously always dried him with a hair dryer which was something he enjoyed. I turned it on once prior to try and expose him to it and the way it sounded, but it still scared him so much that even trying to be very gentle and as calming as possible, he tried to cower in fear before backing into the corner of the bathroom where he slipped and bumped his head against the tile. I quickly turned it off and made sure he was okay and he was, but needless to say I very highly doubt I'll ever be trying to try him off with this again. On another note that is positive.. I found that it has enough force that it can pretty reliably dry a vehicle of after a home car wash. Matter of fact, it has sufficient force that I could even blow the puddled water nearly dry on the driveway following washing cars by pressure washer and foam cannon. I'm including a video where I pointed this at the anonometer on our weather station from a distance of 22 feet away which I confirmed by measurement. Seeing it register an increase in wind speed from a distance shows the amount of force it is capable of. At least it does to me.

Fantastic blow dryer for heavy coated breeds
I have shown Samoyeds for over 45 years and used various heavy duty blow dryers. Lower end dryers can dry the surface coat but not get down to the skin, leading to hot spots on the dog. This dryer has the power to thoroughly dry a dog completely without taking hours. It is powerful and noisy, but my dogs are used to that type of noise as dog show grounds are full of people using dryers at the same time. I also like that I used this on my dog when he was dry, before his bath, getting a lot of loose hair and dirt from his coat, making bathing and subsequent drying easier. I also like that the hose expands when in use and retracts when the blower is off, making for easier storage and transport to shows.
