BlackBerry Plants Prime-Ark Freedom Price Includes Four (4) Plants

When I received these plants I was disappointed at how very small they were. But they looked very healthy and were packaged very well and were moist. I put them in a pot to allow them to grow some before planting in the yard. They seem to be doing great. I look forward to blackberries from them.

I ordered twice from them. Both times plats were very small soon after they started to grow. None died. All are doing well. First batch 2 years later is giving fruit from plants that are now 5 feet tall ! Second batch that I just ordered is still small but its growing well. Plant, water and give them plenty of sun and some fertilizer they will grow fast. No thorns, they have big leaves too! Prune back in winter. Im in zone 6b.

I received and planted these "Primark Freedom" blackberries 2 years ago. They were 4 starter blackberry plants that I was going to learn on. They grew large; however. in the first year, no berries. I decided to let them continue, and new canes came up that year. I also planted 60 Primark Freedoms from my local nursery and planted a large patch of them. Interestingly, the plants I purchased from this amazon vendor look nothing like the 'freedoms' I got from the nursery. When I did a little cleanup this last fall, I noticed these grew in big arches, got to ground an spread new canes. My large patch of real freedoms did not. I consulted an expert to ask what these plants were. I found that these plants that are being sold as "Prime-Ark Freedom" are actually an INVASIVE SPECIES of blackberry known as Himalayan Blackberries that is recommended to be removed by I would not buy anything from this vendor. They are likely just propagating a plant that is grown in the wild and selling them as popular plants at a premium. This seller is scamming you! This is a snippet from a USDA document concerning this plant: "Oregon lists Himalayan blackberry as a noxious weed, and the California Invasive Plant Council rates this species as highly invasive. It is increasingly becoming a problem within southwestern riparian areas"

Be advised that these plants are very small. We've had these blackberry vines at another home but those were much larger. We'll see how well these grow & produce. The earlier vines produced well & the berries are large & tasty.

I purchased these plants in April of 2022. They arrived disease-free and vigorous, and I planted them immediately in their own semi-rasied beds near a fence line. Like any good gardener, I took some time before the purchase to learn about the cultivar and its requirements. While the plants all grew to over 5 feet in their first year, they did not flower. I was only mildly disappointed, as I knew that may happen. This spring, after being properly pruned during the winter, they are exploding with flowers which will hopefully become berries. Regardless, the plants themselves are authentic Prime Ark Freedom and they are not difficult to maintain. They grow very quickly and there are some tipping requirements to help them branch, but in general they are very disease and rust resistant and easy. They do spread via root suckers, I've found them as far as two feet away from the main stem, but those are easily trimmed. I use Miracle-gro Performance Organics General Purpose and Edibles fertilizers, with the Edibles being used during flowering fruiting. I am in USDA Climate Zone 8a, in SC. I absolutely recommend this variety and this vendor.

Plants arrived super healthy. Put them immediately in pots and they are doing great.

The arrived very quickly and were as described. Young plants like these are very fragile. They can't withstand much in the way of stress and definitely can't withstand the full day of sun. They have to be transplanted into a larger pot, with room to grow a bit, and kept in a place where they're limited to about 3 hours of sun per day, and lots of shade. After several months of this, they can be planted in the ground, if that's what you choose. I got them into larger pots, with some good potting mix. One of them died very quickly, because they are very fragile. Another died shortly after transplanting into it's permanent home. The other two are progressing, although it's very slowly. One of the reasons might be that it's just too hot for them in Texas in July. Even when they're healthy enough to transplant into the ground, you don't want to do it when it's over 100 degrees, because they might not survive. If I had to do it over again, I might just spend the extra money and get the more mature plants. If you are willing to nurse these to maturity, they're a good value. But if you want plants that are more mature than this, and stand a better chance of survival, spend the extra money and get the more mature plants.

I planted these in 2025. This year I am picking many blackberries, most of them the size of my thumb. Hard to believe when they arrived as 3" plants that they would become so prolific . Been picking them for about a month with many more still ripening. Used very little fertilizer. The ones in the picture are average size, with many more quick a bit larger
