It is firm enough to sit up without pulling over, and large enough to accommodate a cellphone, 2 eyeglass cases, a wallet, a change purse, and an iPad without struggling to close it. The leather is not too thick and not too thin. It's JUST RIGHT (for me). One of the inside pocket zippers came off the track, but was re-set by pulling the tab all the way to the right.
