Whirl Hand-Powered Spreader

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I already own one of Scott's larger walk-behind broadcast spreaders for my lawn, and it's fantastic for covering large areas. However, I recently realized how useful it is to spot-treat specific sections of the yard instead of fertilizing everything every time. This hand-held spreader has been perfect for that. Before buying it, I would just toss fertilizer out by hand, which wasn't very consistent. This spreader gives me much better control and distributes the product evenly exactly where I need it. One of my favorite things is using it with my son. During the hottest part of the summer, I like applying iron-based fertilizers that won't burn the lawn, even if they're spread a little more generously. It's a fun way to get him involved in caring for the yard, and this spreader makes it easy for both of us to use. The design is comfortable, too. The extended arm support helps distribute the weight so your wrist doesn't get fatigued when the hopper is full. It's a thoughtful feature that makes a noticeable difference. It's not a huge spreader, but that's exactly the point. It's lightweight, easy to maneuver, well-built, and made from the thick, durable plastic I've come to expect from Scott's products. If you already have a larger spreader but want something for touch-ups, overseeding, ice melt, or spot fertilizing, this is an excellent addition to your lawn care tools. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent product and very easy to use. The material feels durable and high quality. The spreading is very even and helps save a lot of time when distributing seeds, fertilizer, or grains. The wheels roll smoothly and the system works better than I expected. It is also lightweight and practical to move around different areas of the yard or property. Very good value for the price. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for something functional and simple for gardening or maintenance work.

Well-designed and easy to use. This hand-held spreader is ideal for smaller lawns and areas where a larger push spreader would be unnecessary. It distributes product evenly, feels sturdy, and allows you to adjust the application rate. It's also much more affordable than a rolling spreader.

I've owned a couple of other Scotts hand spreaders. They're useful for a few years, but the plastic parts eventually start falling apart. Shrug. It's probably pricier than it should be, especially since Scotts keeps sticking on plastic doohickeys that get in the way instead of assisting. In any case, it does a good job spreading fertilizer and seed on small to medium city lawns for a few years. Four stars.

Great product for a small yard. Spreads evenly. I had one for 8 years before it broke. I replaced it with this one. Since you are standing and walking. Don't use this product on a windy day.

I've used this for grass seed, fertilizer, and lawn bug pellets. Hasn't given up yet, throws in a nice spread, large size hopper, comfortable with the wrist rest, and durable enough to throw it on top of the bags and forget about it. Next year I may use it for salting the driveway. I work as a commercial epoxy floor installer, so I have thrown tens of tons of PVA chips on floors and I am pleased with the evenness of this thing once you get the speed of rotation down.

Easy to use and clean. I have a small lawn and it is perfect for the size. Used it for seed, fertilizer and weed control. No issues
