What material is it made of? Will there be any unpleasant odors?

There is no odor. We use 100% polyester fiber, which is anlow carbon material. You don't have to worry about any unpleasant odors.

How effective is the soundproofing? I want to use it to reduce the noise from the washing machine.

These panels can reduce noise, but it’s hard to completely eliminate washing machine noise. Multiple layers of insulation may be needed. An 18-panel set can reduce but not block out the noise.
