can this be applied over silicone

Says right on the container: "Remove any silicone with a silicone caulk remover".

Is this a silicone or a rubber-based product? Or something else?

It says it's a co-polymer rubber in one of the descriptions.

Why would this sealant and the through the roof cartridge sealant be "frequently bought together"? Is there a difference in what they do?

I bought the two together so that with the cartridge it could be squeezed into tight fitting cracks. And I bought the stuff in the can so that it could be brushed over to possibly seal anything that was missed with the cartridge. Kind of a double up in order to catch a leak that has been hard to find.

Hi! Can I apply this with a foam brush?

Schmitt, you could over a small area, but the foam will fall apart. a 3 to 4 inch bristle brush is ideal for large areas. My wife has used a 2 inch brush on some seams on her car.

Used on the farm as frequently as baling twine and duck tape.

2nd time ordering. This product comes in handy. From sealing water obstacles on the horse obstacle cours to sealing small cracks between concrete patio and brick wall. Quick seals on nail holes when roofing shed with used tin. Doesnt get brittle in direct sunlight and weather.

This is the best sealant I have ever used.

I've tried them all, some good, some bad. This "Through The Roof" sealant is very good. I can tell by giving it the sealant test. That is to leave a dab of it at the end of the cap after use. Then, when it has dried, pull off the dried piece. Does the sealant flow out of the tube? "Through The Roof" passed the test. This sealant is so good that when it dries it forms a cap that seals in the rest of the tube and keeps the remaining portion of sealant from drying out. Now that's a good sealant!
