Metal is preferred
This is the option we needed after we ruined our 5 gallon water dispenser by putting hot things in it. We had made some hot chocolate for a family event with a lot of people. After that our spigot would drip. It was probably not smart, since the spigot is plastic. Luckily the spigot is removable, and we got a replacement part for it.I didn't want to repeat the mistake so we were looking for something else we could use. This is one of the options we found. It's much smaller but we figured we can refill it fairly easy. It's also a safer option when this is at a party with younger kids. They seem to want to push the spigot on our 5-gallon jug and it could burn them. With this the dispenser is on the top and not so attractive to kids. Its swivel base is nice for aiming better.I like the metal. Much more practical for hot things. It's nice that they include a cleaning brush. This will be super helpful.

amazing at what it does.
Huge thermos that works great and keeps things cool. Great for when you're going out with the family or some hot chocolate to give out. The dispensing spigot is nice.

This review is for "Airpot Coffee Dispenser Thermal with Pump,2.5L/85 Oz Insulated Stainless Steel Large Airpot Coffee Carafe Lever Action for Hot/Cold Water,Thermos for Coffee Hot Cocoa for Parties"It's really nice; the lever action mechanism is neat and makes dispensing super easy. I tested to see if it would hold heat for hours like the description claims, and it does, kind of. I put in water at 212 degrees F (checked with digital probe thermometer), and checked 12 hours later. It was still hot, but it was 165 degrees - not hot enough to brew tea, but hot enough for instant hot drinks. My main concern is the inner lid. You can remove the lid, but it appears that the lid isn't designed to be taken apart. I wanted to take it apart so I could clean it properly, so I pried the lid apart. I was finally able to get it open, but not able to take it fully apart - the inner part of the lid has a plastic bellows-like thing to propel the liquid.Even if you only use water in this, the fact that it isn't meant to be taken apart in order to clean it or let it dry is concerning to me. You can run hot water and cleaner through it, then run plain water through to rinse, but it is difficult to know when the pump mechanism is fully rinsed and it is just going to stay damp, and all sorts of microscopic critters like that kind of environment. On the good side, I was able to find a video showing the disassembly and cleaning of a similar airpot lid, and because of that I'm going to continue to use it.I'm not marking my review down for that, though, because when I went to double-check the manual to confirm that it didn't include instructions for cleaning the lid I realized that it had already gotten tossed. I don't _think_ the manual had instructions for it, but I think it would be unfair to mark down the score if I can't confirm that.On the whole, I really do like this airpot. I've found myself using it quite a bit for work.

More plastic than I thought
I have bought several airpots over the years because I host garden events where I serve tea. This set comes with some nice extras, such as a brush for cleaning the pot and stickers to use to show it's tea, coffee, etc. However the first thing I noticed is that the top of the pot is made entirely of plastic whereas my previous airpots (that I still have) are stainless steel. This makes it look cheap but mostly I question the longevity of this product. Unfortunately most items are made not to last but to be disposable after a short time. We will see...

Keeps liquid contents very hot
It swivels, easy to clean, easy to pump, holds enough hot water for me to drink all day long. After emptying the pot I was left with about 3 tbsp of water. Even after 4 hrs the water was very hot. It started at 185 degrees and was 145 after 4 hrs. Trow I will boil it only medium not high. But as you can see from the 3rd Pic even after pumping out a large cup every hour there was still steam when empty so it keep water very warm.I also thought the hanging sign was so cool because I drink a lot of hot water all day long and want others in the house not to be confused with other containers with coffee or tea. I am definitely getting another one so I can have a pot of coffee for hubby.I had to come back to edit this review. It is fantastic, stays hot all day. I boil water on medium and it stays hot all day. Simply the best.
