WEN 6800-Watt Dual Fuel RV-Ready Electric Start Portable Inverter Generator with Fuel Shut Off and CO Watchdog for Electric Vehicle Backup (DF680iX)

I’ve never used a generator or been around someone who has I took my chance on the Wen 6800 . I read up on it and got answers to what I was going to use it for. I was convinced this was it. I’ve had it a year as of June 2026 it made it through the winter. It has worked life a pro, I run it daily on propane to charge my power stations. The 2 questions I asked customer service when I received it was do I use all this oil in this container and why I have this yellow light blinking all the time. Their answer was use all the oil, and the blinking light letting you know out of gas. I’m not using gas, good answer. It’s quiet enough for my small town and my neighbors not complaining and l love that. Have I had problems with it cutting off? Yes I have and great news. I was charging 2 power stations at a time and the cord got hot couldn’t handle the voltage to charge both. The generator was doing its job to by cutting off. I had to reset the button on the generator and unplug one of the power stations and all was good. Please keep your oil changed especially if it’s sitting on a dusty ground. Also keep an eye your air filter. I don’t have mine on dirt. Customer service was great and I do recommend this Wen 6800. Nothing is perfect so if you feel whatever you will be using it for might cause problems please get coverage insurance. The size is great just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I can’t move it around, the wheels help and the long handle in front of. Weight just find, beautiful looking piece of equipment easy to use and the dual fuel there if I need it. Battery life you tell me, have I had any problems. By the way it did crank up my new GE dryer but it didn’t have enough to keep it running. It works well with my GE washing machine. Now I have the Wen 14,500 for the dryer only. If we get a storm and the lights go out for a few days I have back up.

I was really surprised by this Generator. I dont normally do reviews,however, due to the size of my fith wheel and the fact that my 4th wheel is wired for 50 amp i want others to know.So not only did this Generator run both my Ac's it also ran the exhaust fan for my stove and pretty much all my lights. I am still in the experimental phase and what this Generator can run. Nevertheless, it has met my expectations; Especially for the fact that I was running it on the 30 amp supply plug. I thought for sure I would be maxed out.Using my 50 amp supply power cord i ran it out approximately 25 ft. And hooked up the propane. Oh yes by the way I ran everything on propane which is supposed to be less efficient. Did not try gasoline, even though thats a better option for dual fuel generators. Nonetheless, the Generator was pretty quiet from 25 feet away running both AC,s. You could here the Generator but it wasn't bad. When I was able to run the Generator on eco mode, you could really tell the difference.Over time the Generator start up was easy. As the green button flashed I could walk away from the Generator and setup camp while it would start on its on.I did find a quieter Generator that was running in our campground. It was a Honda and it was powering a very small size class B. From looking online the Generator ran between $3k-7k. I couldn't see the wattge of the Honda Generator but the 2300 watt. Starts at $3k. After realizing the price of the Honda generator I was really happy with the purchase.Now the negative: The reason why I didn't want a 50 amp generator is because they are so big and heavy. The wen 6800 was much smaller than a 50 amp. For whatever reasons I couldn't get the wen to fit in my under pass through storage compartment. The bottom stabilizers kept catching on the vinyl insulation and getting caught. If you dont have that vinyl insert then you will probably be OK. Instead I had to put it in the back of my truck. So getting it up in the truck can be an issue. I am just going to have to stay in shape!I an not sure if I want to store the Generator in the very back due to weight issues or tolerances.In conclusion I am very happy with the Wen 6800. My wife was thrilled how quitting was. We are glad of the purchase Also, WEN is an American company. The company was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in West Dundee, Illinois.

We purchased this WEN dual-fuel inverter generator for our fifth wheel, and it has been a great addition to our RV setup. It provides plenty of power for our needs, and we especially appreciate having the flexibility to use either gasoline or propane.In our experience, it runs for approximately 12 hours on a standard bottle of propane, which is very convenient for extended use. The electric start makes it easy to operate, and the controls are clearly labeled and straightforward.Although it is a substantial generator, the built-in wheels and handle make moving it much easier. It fits nicely on the cargo carrier at the back of our fifth wheel, and we keep it covered and securely strapped down while traveling.It feels sturdy, dependable, and well made. We are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend it to RV owners looking for a powerful and versatile generator.

It’s been a year and still running well no oil leaks lots of power push start or a really ez pull rip cord. 120/240v it’s a lot quieter than my open frame generator and can pull it easy enough really like how compact it is and can’t find same specs for the price. Only bad is it drinks a bit of gas wish they had a 3000w with 120/240v but haven’t found one

I bought this WEN DF680iX as an RV/backup generator. For a while it did what I needed. It’s quiet for the size, the dual fuel setup is nice, and on paper it checks a lot of boxes.The problem is when something goes wrong.Mine started having issues after running the RV overnight. It began surging, then after shutdown it would not start on gasoline. It briefly ran on propane, then propane stopped working too. I’ve gone through the basics: fuel, carb, selector, plug, propane, oil level, etc. It now appears to have a no-spark issue, so this is not just dirty fuel or a simple carb problem.The most frustrating part is WEN support. I’ve emailed them twice over the last couple months and have not received a response. This generator is supposed to have a 3-year warranty, but that doesn’t mean much if support doesn’t answer.When it worked, I liked it. But if you are buying this for RV backup or emergency power, support matters. A generator that leaves you troubleshooting in the field with no response from the manufacturer is hard to recommend.I wanted to like this unit, but right now I would not buy another one.

Surprisingly powerful. Running 3 ACs in a 37’ RV. It’s pretty quiet under a light load, when you crank the power, it works hard but loud. It is loud when it’s working hard. I am thoroughly impressed with how easy the setup is. Downside is I have an RV quick connect at the back of my RV, next to where I plug in. The propane adapter is a quick attach to the generator only, not one for the propane hookup-just for a tank. I highly recommend this unit for how easy it is to move, how well made it is, how small it is, the dual fuel is awesome and uses it sparingly even under load. I dropped one star for how loud it is. You cannot beat this generator for 800$

Great unit, easy to set up and get it started. Had my fridge and freezer plugged in and it handled them perfectly, even has outlet for charging cell phone. Has RV plug, 220 and 115 outlets, electric start is great but is also very easy to start pulling the rope too. It only has 2 115 outlets, I would have liked 4. Very pleased with my purchase and I ordered it on a Wednesday and it was delivered Friday morning. Highly recommend this unit.

So far so good! Surprisingly quiet. I use for my LQ car hauler. Runs AC and all outlets for cooling fans for racecar at track. Used only on propane and starts quick! A 40lb bottle lasts us 28-30hrs of continuous use I west Texas heat. It’s compact enough that I can fit 2-40lb tanks in compartment with it. Great buy!
