Digital Thickness Gauge 0.5inch/12.7mm,0.0005inch/0.01mm Accuracy

I purchased this thickness gauge to measure different types of paper and cardstock, and it has exceeded my expectations. It comes with the battery already installed and even includes a spare battery, which was a nice bonus. The display is large, easy to read, and the measurements are quick and consistent. I tested it by measuring a single sheet and then folding the same sheet multiple times to compare the readings. The results remained very consistent, with only the tiny rounding differences you would normally expect when measuring compressed paper. The gauge feels solid, well-built, and very easy to operate. It has already become one of my favorite tools for checking paper, cardstock, vinyl, labels, and other thin materials. If you need accurate thickness measurements for printing, crafting, packaging, or similar work, I highly recommend this gauge. Excellent value for the price.

Higher accuracy for a lower price! I used it to sort lock pins after I dropped the box. I was concerned when I realized there was no backlighting but had no problems seeing the lcd display in poor or bright lighting. It was nice to see four decimal places full sized and I rarely had to re zero. I had no standard to check the accuracy but the pins all checked within .001 which is the advertised tolerance. I would reccomend this gauge for anybody needing .001 accuracy and suspect it is better than that.

This is actually much higher quality than we expected. Very nice product for measuring paper and business card thickness.

This is a great little digital thickness gauge. It is precise enough for my needs. I use it to measure wire thickness on guitar string replacement projects. It is compact, sturdy and easy to use. It comes with a hard plastic cary case to protect it when not in use.

Primarily bought this because I was getting into tying my own tapered flyfishing leaders. It’s true that the leader spools tell you the diameter on the spool label, but that’s not always reliable… For example, based on my own testing, I learned (and validated from reading some forums) Maxima Ultragreen is often one to two sizes larger than the printed diameter of their smaller tippet sizes (i.e. one to two thousandths larger), Whereas my Rio tippet spools are always less than 0.0005” from stated thousandth of and inch. Pro-tip: due to the sensitivity of the instrument, in fact that it was important I was able to accurately measure differences of one 1000 of an inch between different pieces of leader material, I found it very beneficial to get one of those weighted, micro meter stands and place this in it rather than trying to hold everything in my hands. I haven’t done any formal testing or validation but as far as I’m concerned, It seems well built, easy to use an accurate enough for anything I’ll be doing.

It'll work for the price as a starter. There is a little play that I have a little concern with but accurate with my feeler gauge. I will buy a higher quality one once I get certified as a coating inspector.

Arrived on time, securely packaged, functional design, appropriately sized, comes with two batteries (one extra), seems quite well built with a nice weight to it, easy On and Off, zeros out with a touch of a button, easy switching between inches and mm. Would recommend it to all my leather crafting friends out there.
