Great Instrument for the Value!
I'm a woodwind doubler and took on a show that required me to play piccolo. I needed to get one quick so I took to Amazon. I ordered this piccolo knowing it may not be the best out there but I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. It plays so easy and the intonation is not too shabby once you play around with it! Some of the higher notes are tough to get out but I'm not a piccolo player. It works well for me! I definitely recommend!

Leaks air when playing
If they could get the seal tighter it would be great!

You get what you pay for :(
Purchased this mid September for my kid to use in high school marching band. It worked OK for the first few weeks, but now there is an airy tone quality from low G to low B, and a possible leak in 3 to 4 keys. I can't recommend this one. If you have a kid who is looking for an instrument like this, I recommend going to a music shop and renting or renting to own vs going this route. To add insult to injury and teens being teens she didn't come to me with all the issues until 9 days after the return window closed. Sigh.

Not worth it, look around.
My daughter is a sr in high school and in marching band. Bought this bc it was all I could afford at the time. It really isn’t worth the money. She’s a very experienced player on flute and pic and she had a very hard time tuning this thing. I just ordered a used gemeinhardt 4p piccolo for about 100.00 more in basically mint condition and it was WELL worth it. The sound quality between the two were like night and day. This thing has to go back to the shop, again and I’m just gonna donate it to whoever can use it.

Good piccolo, great for the price
I'll start off by saying that this piccolo is a really great buy. It's a little more expensive than most, but the price is worth it. However, it's far from a perfect horn. The only really huge issue is that the pads are either extremely hard felt, or synthetic cork that has been dyed yellow to imitate the look of felt pads. Cork pads are fine, but they tend to be a bit noisy, and are not the standard piccolo pad. The next issue is much more minor: The case is large. It's still small since it's for a piccolo, but it appears that there is space for two headjoints (or one headjoint and a very long tube of cork grease) when only one headjoint is actually included with the horn. The cleaning cloth is too large for the picc, but a few cuts with a pair of scissors will fix that. I've never enjoyed the aesthetics of the silver headjoint with the black body, or the polished black plastics in instruments, but that's what you get at this price point, and it's a personal decision. The metal headjoints are easier to clean, and have the advantage of having a lip plate, so it's nice for flutists who only occasionally need piccolo. However, this is not without its merits. It's extremely responsive, and the tone is serviceable. It's nothing to write home about, but it sounds like a piccolo. The keys seem sturdy, and the plastic doesn't seem brittle. The ergonomics are spot on, though it's extremely difficult to mess up the ergonomics on an instrument of this size. From what I can see, the tone holes are well- cut and neatly finished. The cork work is neatly done as well. It has a split E, meaning high E (Three ledger lines above the treble staff) will be better in tune and easier to play. In a nutshell, it appears to be based on a Yamaha design.Besides a the issue with cork pads, aesthetics, and a bulky case (I like to be able to carry the picc case in my pocket), this is a great picc for the price.
