Q: Does this taste like yams when added to things like quick breads and pancakes? Thanks so much for your time in answering.

I use purple yam powder to make a purple, (as opposed to red), velvet cake. The powder adds texture but no distinguishable taste. It has the texture of finely whipped potatoes when liquefied by adding water and cooking.

I'd compare it to either 4oz of Ground pepper or any other finely ground seasoning. 16 Tablespoons of fine powder would be slightly more than ½Cup (½C = 15Tbsp +2¼ tsp). This should be considerably less volume. Even the package isn't large enough to hold 16Tbsp.
