I would give 10 stars- just got this and it felt amazing!! I have eczema so texture and feel of cream means a lot to me. It felt so soothing and hydrating and pleasant super light smell- k wouldn’t call it a fragrance bc it is so light. Truly impressed and enjoying the cream. Please put this on sale again and I’ll buy even more!! I go through a lot of creams for my eczema and I can see myself being a long time customer. Thank you for such a pleasant cream. Went on a little greasy and then absorbed and felt hydrating and not greasy a bit. You can tell this small business put love in their product and from one small business person to the next — Bravo! Well done my friends!

I am very impressed with this beef tallow product! I am using it to soothe my skin from the ravishes of eczema. Its to soon to know the final result but the areas around my neck and ears have improved a lot. The tallow feels velvety and smells wonderful. I recommend this product for your skin care.

I love that this is a large jar and not whipped and the price is great. A little bit really does go a long way. The smell is nice but very subtle and the consistency is perfect. It absorbs nicely and isn’t greasy at all. It leaves my skin shining all day, though. I use this everywhere, like a whole body lotion. It is one of the best tallows I’ve found and I’ve used a lot of them. Will be ordering again, I’m very happy with this.

This is great. Melts right into skin and so far, hasn't worsened my acne prone facial skin. Very light scent and minimal ingredients. My only beef with it ;-) WHY is it made in China?! If it really is American tallow, how is it cheaper or more efficient to ship the tallow to China and make the product there and then ship it back to the US? 🤔 I would give it 5 stars except for that.

I was looking at the review and most said you could see the effects within days sometime weeks.. I just received it today and I’m having a patchy red/rosacea kind of day and I put it on my face and it immediately smooth out my face plumped it up and took away all the redness and it smells amazing.. it’s very faint, but it smells good. I also put it on my feet and it’s smooth my feet out right away. I am super super impressed with this product.!

First time ever using tallow and didn’t know what to expect other than the great reviews and decided to give it a shot and it did not DISAPPOINT. I have sensitive skin and tried many different products that didn’t irritate my face and nothing beats this product. Lightweight on skin , very moisturizing and scent doesn’t irritate my face . Skin feels hydrated and even rub product in my beard helps with dryness and irritation. If your on the fence with ordering do yourself a favor and check it out GREAT PRODUCT

I haven't used this as regularly as I should, but it felt great on my skin. I live in Colorado so it's extra dry here.

This Tallow has a pleasing, subtle orange scent. Application in tiny amounts is easy. After two nights of using, I see results. The best part…it’s made in Canada; something we need now, more than ever! The little note in the box was a very nice touch. Please keep making this product.

Tallow has become my new favourite skin moisturizer. My previous go-to skin moisturizer previously was a mixture of shea butter and coconut oil, but I found it just hasn’t cut it on my face or legs anymore. I did a switched to Cerave and this has been much better for long-term moisturizing and reducing the redness of my cheeks. But I really would prefer something more natural and since tallow seems to be all the rage these days, I decided to test out a few different products to see how they work for my skin. This is one of the products I have tests and I am very pleased with the results. I have been using this item for a couple weeks now, mostly on my face. For comparison I applied this mixture to one side of my face and did my standard face creams on the other side of my face to see how well this compares to what I am used to. It has been very cold lately, which means it’s also been very dry with the furnace running so often. I have had to apply this a bit more often then normal, but it has held up just as long as the Cerave during this type of weather. The product absorbs into the skin well and quickly, without leaving greasy residue. The smell of the product is pretty subtle with a mild lavender smell. This product is thick and more like a balm then a cream, kind of like the consistency of butter, where it’s hard and needs some heat to spread. You need to warm up the moisturizer with your fingers, but I find you only need small amount and it goes a long ways on your face. Overall this product has not only been a great moisturizer but has also reduced some of the redness I get from a health condition that causes a red butterfly rash on my face. While a little goes a long ways, because of the consistency of this item it is a bit harder to apply on larger body parts. I have tried it on my legs, and is does work well at moisturizing them, but I do find it feels like it takes a decent amount to cover my legs and this seems like a costly option for moisturizing larger body areas. The bottle lists the ingredients: triple rendered beef tallow, jojaba oil, beeswax, vitamin E, lavender. I am happy to find a great natural option for moisturizing my face.

Update: When I ordered this product, I was under the impression that it was made in Canada as that was what was indicated in the product listing at the time. I've thrown away the box, and the jar that I currently have doesn't indicate where it's made. As of the time of this update, I've come to learn that it's made in China. It's still a good quality product, but if shopping around and comparing prices, the ones actually made in Canada are more expensive. If you want a good quality tallow product that's from a Canadian company but made in China and get it for a lower price, this is a product to consider. If you're willing to pay more for made in Canada tallow products, there are other options such as Silver Lining (made in Canada from Canadian tallow). ---- Original Review: When I received this item, I could tell that there was a lot of thought and care taken to produce and package this moisturizing balm. The scent is very light and pleasant and the balm is thick and moisturizing. I don't use it on my face but have used it on my hands and heels. It's really good for my dry heels. It does go on a bit oily feeling but I find that my skin starts to absorb the balm and the oily feeling is only temporary. I think this would make a lovely gift for those who suffer from dry hands and feet, particularly those who are frequently hand washing.

I'm a pretty big fan of tallow creams especially for the current dry winter weather. I use it all over my face when I am especially dry, and other times I put on a normal moisturizer and then apply this on top of dry spots (e.g. healing pimples spots). If you are new to tallow face moisturizers, this may feel too heavy at first, but it should be something that you can get used to. I'm prone to hormonal acne and while this doesn't heal them, it also doesn't cause breakouts. If you have breakouts due to dry skin causing too much oil production then this should help. Additionally, this balm works just fine under makeup for me. This is a hard tallow balm and looked a bit crumbly in the container, but once I warmed it up with my hands it melted into an oil consistency that was easy to spread over my face. I have tried a tallow balm before which is liquidy oil in room temperature that I stopped using on my face because I suspected it had gone bad and caused me bad breakouts. I don't believe this will be an issue with this product due to the hard waxy consistency. I have tried whipped tallow cream as well (from another brand), and that feels much lighter - like regular moisturizer, but it's not as effective, so I prefer this balm consistency. This tallow balm leaves my face super soft when I apply it all over which the whipped one I tried could not achieve. This tallow balm smells a little citrusy but the smell doesn't linger or bother me once it's on my face, and I'm pretty sensitive to smells. Ingredients include: beef tallow, jojoba oil, beeswax, vitamin E, and sweet orange. It does have a bit of a neutral oil smell when I am applying it, but it's not beefy or anything and goes away quickly. The bottle is quite small but a little goes a long way, and you can easily bring this with you on the go due to the small size. Since it's not runny, it should also be fine to fly with this without needing to to put it in a liquids bag. The product came with a nice little individually handwritten note from the seller which I found to be a nice touch. The company is based in Canada and they claim they only source ingredients from Canada and the US. It's always nice to support a local small business that creates good products.

I've used this lotion on my hands twice a day for about week and I totally love it. I have something eczema-related on my hands, which makes them very dry and prone to irritation. This lotion has actually been very soothing and has made my previously rough and dry hands pretty smooth and soft. I also tried it on my face a few times. I'd recommend putting it on your face in the evenings, as it it pretty thick, but you could just as well use it as a daytime moisturizer. The lotion (which I would identify more as a balm, because it's really thick and not at all liquidy) does indeed absorb quite quickly and doesn't leave a greasy finish. It's really smooth and is just a beautiful product. I can detect a slight smell that is distinctive to tallow balms, but it's not in any way unpleasant. It's kind of mild and creamy smelling and not at all a meaty smell. The main scent is a really nice lavender. I can't say what the difference is between natural lavenders, but I've come across some that smell really nice to me and others that are less so -- this is one of the really nice ones. The smell isn't overpowering, but it's enough that it's noticeable. I'm picky about what I put in and on my body, so I looked up the parent company of Ancestral Haven, which the ad identifies as Altaerra Inc. and it is registered in Toronto. The ad says the product is made in Canada and their website says the ingredients originate from Canada and the US, which is great and offers more assurance that what the label says is in the product is actually what is in the product. The attorney for the trademark is located in the US, which is a bit weird for a Canadian company.
