If you use as directed, it works
Most of the negative reviews I have seen on this product are based on not using it properly. Sprinkle it lightly all over, twice a week. Warning- the container has huge holes for sprinkling. It is almost impossible not to over use it if you sprinkle from the container. I put on a pair of disposable latex gloves and sprinkle it manually. Then when the critters are gone, reduce to occasional use to keep them from coming back.I learned on one website that they do not like digging. So I tried digging around their tunnels- did not work alone. But combined digging in active tunnels with fox urine sprinkled all around the yard did the trick. I am assuming they feared foxes were digging around looking for them. The trick is in knowing whether they are gone or not. Just because there are holes, doesn't mean they are not abandoned housing. This may seem a little gross, but I dig around the holes with my gloved hand, and if I smell fresh feces (you'll know) then I know they are still in that colony. I had so many active colonies in my yard that It took a couple months to get rid of them. I am still working on the colony that lives around my birdfeeder. They have apparently decided it is worth the risk to stay near the buffet. But the rest are gone.I don't know if this is a sound plan, but now when I spread the fox urine to keep them away, I concentrate on the perimeter of my yard. I think that it may keep them from coming any farther to explore. At least I hope so.

Ship Separately!!!
I'm a repeat buyer of this stuff. Originally bought the 3 pound size and it did what it was supposed to which is get rid of Mr. or Ms. Groundhog who had set up home umder the slab of my garage. Filled in the hole and all was well for about 7 months from the initial application. In late June, saw the entrance hole had been dug out. I wasn't surprised as I had read that GH can smell the former den of another GH for several years after it has been vacated, and will dig it out to reoccupy it. I had a little left of the original purchase and sprinkled it into the new hole and immediately ordered this larger size. I haven't seen any further activity at the hole since the reapplication. Fortuneately, some actual real foxes have moved into the area and I'm hoping they will eat any groundhogs that come around. Now, for the warnings. This stuff really stinks. Wear latex or rubber gloves that you can throw away when opening, applying, or handling it in any way. If it gets on your hands, expect the smell to stay for days. Be sure you are upwind and reach out with the container so none gets on your shoes.Shipping advice...have this stuff shipped separately from any other items. I ordered a National Audubon Society Field Guide book at the same time; Amazon put them in the same box. The Shake Away was in a plastic bag, but it had holes, and for some completely unfathomable reason, the lid was not screwed onto the container. The book was not wrapped in anything. The book was covered in fox urine granules and now stinks to high heaven. I immediately called Amazon customer service and they shipped out a new book with expedited delivery; they even requested I not ship the original book back them.Oh, and when you open the box, do it outside; you really do not want any of this stuff inside your house.I would have given this 5 stars as it worked as it was supposed to on my groundhog problem, but a quality control or inspection problem by the manufacturer in not screwing the lid on could have caused a very nasty clean up problem if the shipping box had been opened in the house.

WORST EVER.
The product arrived on time. That was the only good thing about this purchase. I needed to get rid of a family of rabbits that are multiplying faster than I can count who were living in a large bushy area, right behind my fence. I sprinkled this around the entire perimeter of my property, around my vegetable garden and flower beds. I sprinkled a generous amount in the bushes where they lived thinking that hitting them there would force them to relocated someplace else. But here is what happened the very next day. The entire family of white-tailed rabbits, including little babies had a little family get-together in my backyard, in the middle of the day, while I was watching them from my kitchen. They new I was watching them because I actually made my way out to the deck and they a couple of them turned around and acknowledged my presence. They dug a couple of holes in my yard, tried to dig up the flower beds and my vegetable garden. I am not sure if these rabbits are a mixed breed and have some fox ancestors in their genealogy, but they showed no fear of any freaking predators. It was the biggest F U an animal has given me that I was trying to get rid off. This product MAY have worked for others. But it was an ABSOLUTE FAILURE for me. I could have just taken the ridiculous amount they charged me for this ($22) and given it as a bribe to those freaking rabbits to at least leave my flowers and vegetables alone and that would have been a better solution. Next stop, the gun store...In summary, worst rabbit chaser ever!! And for the record, I am not sure what a fox urine is supposed to smell like. But I know for sure what my urine smells like when I am dehydrated and it smelled exactly like this product.
