Pros: - Great deal - bright red really contrasts with the black. - sturdy frame sits fairly comfortably on back (with caveat, see below) - Wings open very wide, for a big wow-factor, and fold up pretty tightly. - The strings were easy to pull Things to keep in mind (I’d call them ‘cons’ except I really like the wings) - sometimes I had to search for the strings a bit as they would swing to the back. - I had to walk through doors a bit sideways, and would every so often knock them on the door. - walking outside they would suddenly open wide in the wind, and there was no way to force them closed. It felt a bit like a kite, and definitely suddenly smacked (lightly) the friends walking beside me. It could be annoying if in a crowded outside area - though for us was just humerus. - The straps were pretty tight, and I am slender. I couldn’t see how to expand them, but didn’t look too hard yet. They fit me, but might be too tight for someone with broad shoulders. I would absolutely buy them again. Review: Coolest Costume Wings 👌 UPDATE - My son loved these. They were pretty amazing. He even wore them to school, he is a sophomore. He raised eyebrows everywhere, and he even got an amazing smile from a teacher across the hall conducting class who usually doesn't deviate...stood completely still watching my son slowly open these great sized cool looking wings, his own students got up out of their seats to come see haha ... distracted his own class! Sooooo many compliments, and made my son happy as he paid for them with his own money to create this year's dream costume! They will however not last long. One gust of wind (and I imagine many other incidences) quite easily broke one wing from operating. So for the price, and if you don't mind a one time use and you're careful (and it's not windy) you're good!!! UPDATE SUMMER 2021- He's still talking about these wings and wants to use them again. He did fix the one wing. I don't know how. Here are some additional close up pics from today after seeing so many questions about them. The two pull cords are separate and they crisscross on the back attached to a plastic board centered on the back between the wings. Pulled separately they elevate (open) one wing at a time or both together if you choose to pull at the same time. There are two plastic tubes the cords thread through on their way to the wings. There is a black tank he has put over this for his next costume and that is what the extra black fabric is that you see. There is NO cover over the back of the wing mechanism. ## Features - COSTUME INCLUDES: Wings With Pull Strings To Create Movement - DOES NOT INCLUDE: Shirt and pants - Rubies Red Mechanical Devil Wings. - IMPORTANT DETAILS: Turn whatever you're wearing into a costume. Which is it?** A: Hello, Thank you for your inquiry and sorry for the delay. There are 3 sets of wings being sold on this page. For the red, you need to choose the devil option. We don't see an issue with the colors, perhaps it was a glitch the other day. Have a good day! **Q: Can the non-mechanical Devil wings be folded down by hand, for instance if you're in a crowd and they'll be in the way? Thanks.** A: These wings do fold down. Actually to open them out, as shown in the picture, there is a thin cord you pull to extend them. They don't stay open unless you are holding the cord tightly. The cord is very thin, as are the wings themselves (very lightweight). My 12 year old granddaughter used them for Halloween. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Impressive expanding wings *by S***R on November 21, 2021* I was very impressed with this wing set and can’t believe the quality for price. They created an extremely dramatic effect. Would definitely recommend them! Only gave 4 stars because we had to do a little work to them for proper functionality. The straps are uncomfortably snug but we just sewed some additional 1” black elastic to them to improve the fit. One of the screws fell out of the hinge while trying them on but that was an easy fix with a small Phillips head screwdriver. And finally, the black plastic box in the center the wings attach to and that houses the pulley system to make them flap, needed to be covered up for a more natural demon look. I just got a piece of black faux fur and that did the trick perfectly. ## Frequently Bought Together - Rubies Unisex Adult Mechanical Costume Wings, Red Devil, One Size - MWOOT 400 Pieces Black Craft Goose Feathers for Dream Catchers DIY Halloween Costume Handmade Earring Wedding Party Decoration Home Activities Easter Natural Feather 7-15 cm - Ballinger Black Craft Feathers Bulk - 120Pcs 6-8 Inch Real Goose Feathers for DIY Halloween Decorations, Jewelry,Cosplay and Clothing Accessories --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/70015518-rubies-mechanical-devil-wings-for-adults-unisex-no-size](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/70015518-rubies-mechanical-devil-wings-for-adults-unisex-no-size) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
