For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out how to use stamping plates at first. That’s definitely on me though because there is a bit of a learning curve. It took me watching what felt like 20 tutorials before things started to click. I’m still not perfect at it, but I can honestly say I’m getting better with practice, and the results are starting to look a lot cleaner. As for the polish itself, I was really impressed. It is extremely pigmented, which makes a huge difference when stamping because the designs actually show up bold and crisp instead of patchy or faded. This is not gel polish, so there is no need for a lamp or curing. You just apply it, give it a little time to air dry, and you are good to go. If you want extra shine or longer wear, you can always add a top coat at the end, but it is not required. The bottles are on the smaller side, but for the price and the variety of colors you get, it feels like a really good deal. A little goes a long way, especially with stamping, so I do not see myself running out quickly. Between the quality, pigmentation, and value, I would say this set is worth it, especially if you are willing to put in a little time to learn the technique.

If I could leave a zero star review I would; arguably the worst nail polish I have ever used. Thin, gooey, barely opaque, and the colors shown in the photo are WAY off (there is no red at all, for example). It will never dry fully; but it will also not come off of your nails all the way either, somehow?? Like colored epoxy that's been mixed poorly or something, a texture I'm struggling to find an apt comparison for. It's reminiscent of the stuff you'd get in those toy makeup kits for little kids in the 90's/early 2000's. I regret not opening this and trying them out (and I did try multiple colors, just to be sure) within the return window, I wouldn't even give this to my 8 year old neice to play around with. The whole set is now in the trash. :(

Born pretty use to have some of the best stamping polishes. Normally stamping polishes are super pigmented and thick. These have the consistency of normal polish and do well as full coverage polishes. For stamping they are a hit or miss. I swatched all of them and there's really only 3 that are solid for stamping over light and dark colors. Most do good over white. They work best on similar base colors or you can reverse stamp to help make the design bold. They do not smudge with topcoat if you wait a few minutes. I found with previous formulations no matter how long you waited there was smudges. Considering the price this is a good starter set especially for the price.

I'm still trying to decide if I like these stamping polishes. The reason they show the vibrant colors on white in their stock photos is because that's pretty much the only color they show up on. They aren't pigmented enough to show up opaque when applied. The main reason I bought this set was for the metallic colors and I'm pretty happy with those. I wish there was a metallic green in the set though. Also a bigger difference in three of the colors would be nice. I had no troubles at all with the polish drying too quickly. My stamper picked up the whole image just fine and I had no problem with application. The 10ml bottle size seems good, especially since you don't need to use much at a time.

And I can assure you, if you have the right technique, you'll never smear or smudge your image. My technique is simple. First and foremost, shake the bottle. This polish is heavily pigmented and it can settle after a while, so shake it well. Stamp your image onto your nail, do five nails at a time, that gives the stamping polish time to dry since it's such a thin coat. Once all five nails are done, go back to the first nail you stamped, take your top coat brush and ROLL the top coat over the image. I don't swipe one side or the other of the brush, I literally dip it into the top coat, pull it out and allow a large drop to land on my nail. You should only apply the top coat in 3 to 4 swipes of the brush, but the brush should NEVER touch the image. If you touch the brush to the image, I guarantee you'll smear or smudge your image. I have well over 20 bottles of Born Pretty stamping polish, none of them have ever smudged or smeared because of the way I do it. Most, if not all, fast drying top coats are self-leveling, so if it's not perfect, keep an eye on it and see if it levels out. I use strictly Seche Vite fast drying gel effects top coat when I stamp, the images always come out crisp, clean and clear. All of the colors, with the exception of the blue, came out nicely on black polish. You could use the white polish first to stamp the image, top coat, then apply the image again with blue and it should come out cleaner, I haven't had the chance to experiment with that yet. This is a great set of polishes, I love all the colors and having a hard time deciding what I want to stamp.

Colors don't match what is shown in the pictures! Some of the colors are the same, but a bunch are slightly different. Like the red isn't really red. It's like a burnt umber or brick red (slightly brown) Definitely not red. The light blue isn't really light blue, it's dark blue. I was really looking forward to that color... I painted all the colors on a nail wheel so I could see them all. Other than the colors being off, they seem like a fairly decent polish...go on nice, self level, decent coverage/opacity. They dry a little too fast, like before I can get an even coat...which makes it more difficult to apply. But at least they don't take forever to dry. I'd rather it dry too fast than too slow. Kinda think polish too, just apply two thin coats and you should be ok.

Het was een beetje onduidelijk als het lak of gellak was. Het is gewone nagellak, geen gel. Opzich vind ik dat niet erg. Werkt heel goed en je hoeft helemaal niet snel te zijn. Het stempelkussen dat ik heb, heb ik niet moeten ‘preppen’ wat ook wel gemakkelijk en tijdsbesparend is. Ook gemakkelijk te verwijderen van de plaatjes achteraf. Het enige nadeel is dat er eentje niet goed was dicht gedraaid waardoor het helemaal was uitgelopen en uitgehard, dat is wel jammer.

Bin total begeistert von den Farben. Endlich funktioniert das stempeln nahezu frustfrei. Platten cleanern, Farbe drauf, anziehen und sanft mit dem stempeln aufnehmen, auf den Nagel und versiegeln. Gold und Silber sehen mega gut auf schwarz aus, rot geht auch noch. Die anderen Farben wirken nur auf hellen Untergründen. Lediglich der schimmernde Rosa Ton wirkt selbst auf weiß etwas blass, aber das ist subjektiv. Preislich sind sie intensiver als andere Hersteller, aber für mich hat es sich absolut gelohnt.

Need to know, how to use. I like it. Can’t say it super pigmented, but works well for such price.
