The BioAdvanced Fire Ant Killer is hands down one of the best products I’ve used for fire ant control. Living in Texas, where fire ants are a constant nuisance, I needed something effective to treat large areas quickly. I applied this product to soccer fields where the ants had become a major problem, and it delivered exceptional results. What impressed me the most was how fast it worked. After applying the product as directed, I noticed a significant reduction in ant activity within hours, and within a couple of days, the infestations were completely gone. The treated areas have remained ant-free since, which is no small feat in Texas. Another major plus is the low odor. Many ant killers have a strong, unpleasant smell, but this one is much more tolerable, which makes it easier to use in public or recreational spaces like sports fields. It’s also very easy to apply, whether you’re treating small mounds or larger problem areas. Absolutely does the trick. Within a few days the colony will collapse. Does not take much to kill a large fire ant hill. I usually stir up the little buggers to get them scrambling, sprinkle a little on the panicking ants, a few days later you have a dead mound after they take the goods back to the queen.

In my opinion, this product works better than any other fire ant dust that I’ve used. I’ve been using BioAdvanced exclusively for over ten years, and while not perfect, it eliminates my mounds about 90 percent of the time. The dust works by getting on the worker ants which carry it into the mounds down to the queen(s). The instructions say do not disturb the mounds, but I get better results when I do disturb the mound. I normally use a small branch to break up the surface of the mound and then dust the hundreds of ants coming out of the mound. I also dust at least 6 inches around the mound and any small mounds within a few feet of the larger mounds. The more ants that get dust on them increases your odds of some of that dust getting on and killing the queen(s). I also use this dust for pavement ants by sprinkling lightly on top of the mounds. I’ve observed good results without disturbing the mounds for pavement ants.

I'm very happy that it doesn't take a lot of this to work and that you can use it sparingly. One word of caution is be careful spreading it in anything other than a gentle breeze because it's very light and it will blow away.

Works great when dry. Dont stand down wind the consistency of baby powder. Sprinkler a small ammount on mound and watch what happens. The larger the mound the more you need. Keep away from kids and pets. It's poison people!

All I can say is wow. I live on 1.25 acres and we get a lot of huge ant piles. My father in law isn't a fan of widespread pesticides so he usually just pours boiling water on the sounds. One mound in particular near our gate was just not going down after repeated dousings of boiling water. I bought this and obliterated it in one day. I was so pleased I went around the yard and put it on all visible mounds. I will definitely be using this again. I know it says it treats 130 mounds but the powder does come out quick and I've probably used half the bottle on 10 mounds.

If you have the misfortune to live where fire ants are prevalent, you need this killer. It's the most effective we've ever tried. The shaker top makes it easy to apply and keeps the product away from your hands. A light sprinkle over the top of the mounds (not around the mounds - use as instructed and you'll have great success) is all you need. If you're particularly sadistic, stand back and watch the insects from hell start coming out and dying instantly. The instructions call for the powder to be watered in after applying, but we don't always do that and it still kills just fine. One note of caution: this is a very, very light powder and will blow around even in a light wind. Take care that it doesn't blow onto you when you're working with it.
