Preacher: The Legendary Mountain Man: How It All Began (Preacher/First Mountain Man)

The story is like reading a history book of the early days in America with the description of the scenery and how things were back in the early 1800s . The characters are believable, along with the weapons and the story line. Wm. Johnstone is wonderful writer and storyteller.

Read the footnotes, they have explanatory and historical information . I've read most of his series in which Preacher was a character. Then I came upon this book about Preacher. I will start reading the rest of Preacher's stories. Mr. Johnstone writes very well and has excellent plots and subplots. If u like western you will enjoy his books.

This was two.books.in one..it was great to see how the legendary mountain man got his start. He certainly a rough start in life but weathered the storm. Johnstone did it again with both of these books. I have read slot of his books but, unlike others, he keeps coming up with new story lines.

Clean enjoyable reading. No “f” s or other trashy words in abundance to pit up with. Life is covered but not in lurid detail. Great story!

This is an excellent book. It answered a lot of questions I've had about Preacher for years. The initial part of the story was great but the final section was better. Learning Preacher's origin was exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased this book.

We, in this household, always enjoy a good western. This book begins the journey of the mountain man series and we loved it. We often re-read our favorite stories and then again, we forget some books as we read so many. Loved the book and will continue to read books by this author.
