I thought this would bwe a corny scent for a teenage boy, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It is definitely a cherry aroma, but not in a fruity or feminine way. It's almost a smoked cherry. I don't know what "Nightfall" is supposed to smell like. It si a pleasasnt, adult aroma, though, without being an overtly musky/ambery stereotupical masculine scent. It works nicely and last for the whole day. I like it, plus, hey, it's Batman. It goes on dry, but soft, so you're not pulling out your hair when you apply it. It's not sticky in any way. I haven't noticed that it does a lot to stop me from sweating, maybe a little bit, but it does help with odor very nicely. The stick is white, not clear or a gel, so it looks like an anti-perspirant even though it's not. (They make an antiperspirant version of this scent, but I haven't tried that one.) I have not noticed any residue on my shirts from it.
