Good value
So the glue that holds the bit holder to the punch broke the 1st time I used it. The it slides on so it's still very much usable. I use this to mark my tools.

Nearly Worthless
Here are your instructions: put the letter you want in the punch tool. Place it where you want on the metal item and push down. There is a spring loaded mechanism inside and it will do a punch and it might engrave the metal item. Here is why it doesn't work: The spring loaded mechanism only catches and creates a force once every two or three attempts. This makes it so you try a few times and slip a little each time and make ugly, illegible ghosting. When it does catch and activate the spring loaded mechanism, it doesn't have much power and only makes a faint symbol... even on brass which isn't nearly as hard as steel. The punch tool is hard enough to use that it is difficult to make sure it is perfectly vertical. If it isn't perfectly vertical then you only get half of the letter. I'm going to toss the punch tool and keep the symbols and probably use a hammer. This product is a disappointment.

Good stamp dies bad punch handle.
The stamps leave good clean indentations but the spring loaded punch doesn’t hit very hard and half the time it’s like it gets stuck and won’t pop and hit. I have a feeling that it would do awesome for soft metal like brass but for anything like aluminum it takes two or three times to get a good solid indentation for it to last. I would have gave it a better rating if it wasn’t for the spring loaded punch being the way it is.

Easy to use.
This is a great product that is easy to use and made of good quality. I use it for stamping soft aluminum tags for plant identification.

Only partially worked for me
I didn't like that some of the letters I could not get to stamp on a brass key chit - such as the "w". And the spring action holder I don't see the point of. It wouldn't work at all unless I loaded the letters in such a way as to bypass the springlike holder.

Consistent impressions
Consistent stamp due to autostrike feature. Simple, easy to use with superior consistency.

Solid Stamper
I used this to try to stamp letters into my new golf putter. The stamps are nice and the stamping tool is also very helpful, however, it doesn’t apply a lot of force. It wasn’t strong enough to stamp letters into the forged steel head. I used the stamps and a hammer and it worked fine.
