Poppi Sparkling Prebiotic Soda Beverage with Apple Cider Vinegar, Seltzer Water and Fruit Juice, Doc Pop Flavor, 12 Fl Oz, Pack of 12, Packaging May Vary

I like the concept of a low-sugar soda with prebiotics and Apple Cider vinegar. That said, these products are SWEET with a capital S and they have a slightly off aftertaste. This is common with Stevia sweetened drinks. The people that develop this product need to learn the concept that less is often more! I have tried two of their flavors (the Cream Soda flavor that was specifically requested by a co-worker, and the Dr. Pop that I would presume is supposed to taste like Dr. Pepper). The Cream Soda flavor is so sweet that I simply cannot drink it. The Dr. Pop is likewise overly sweet and lacks the slightly acidic, complex flavor of Dr. Pepper. Without "doctoring" the flavor, I find that the Dr. Pop tastes very similar to a certain cherry-flavored over-the-counter cough syrup. I find that the Dr. Pop becomes more palatable if I dilute it and add lemon juice to cut the sweetness. I have already given away the Cream Soda case that I purchased through Amazon. I have bought some bottled lemon juice (unsweetened) and will drink the rest of the Dr. Pop case over time. I will NOT, however, be purchasing any more Poppi brand soda. Ever.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: My favorite flavor of poppi.

It’s been about a year since I’ve switched to probiotic soda. This is one of my favorite flavors as it satisfies my craving. Only one star off to let you know don’t go in expecting it’s going to taste exactly like the original. It’s still really good though!

Poppi did something remarkable. They made a soda that has a fraction of the sugar that traditional soda has, and they added prebiotics aka the food for your gut microbes to be healthy, so essentially its good for you. We all have our vices, and mine is sugar. Love sweets. This allows me to take a little of the guilt down while still enjoying a nice pop. 4 stars were given since the price is relatively high for a regular can. These packs come out to about $2.40 per can, which is a bit much for sugar water with vinegar and inulin, but they are the first movers in the market, which lets them make the price. The DocPop is my favorite. Its the closest i have come to some Dr Pepper imitation. Better than the Cola ones for sure. Other flavors are good too, but more eccentric for sure. My wife is hooked on them.

When I need a soda itch, I choose Poppi! It is low sugar and tastes pretty near to the name brand product. I have ordered several flavors and so far, am pleased with each one. However, Doc Poppi and Classic Cola are my favorites of this brand. There is no after taste or bitterness from this product.
