Let me start off by laying some perspective. My first console was an Atari in 1983 and I’ve played every console and a lot of PC since then. Sucks to be you, Mac-only owners. I don’t care who makes a game or what platform it’s on, all I care is that it’s entertaining. This one is. I played it via Gamepass on Xbox Series X and bought it on hard copy as soon as I beat it… and then started it again- it has New Game +. This game is a unicorn in gaming today. It’s single player, fun to play, beautifully designed, no bugs that I encountered, is a complete story without requiring DLC, has no microtransactions, and doesn’t force you to set up an account with a third party in order to play. On all of that alone I would recommend this game. But beyond those points (what we used to call being a basically competent game when I was younger) it’s a heck of a fun game that translates the Guardians franchise perfectly. Yes the characters look different but you can unlock skins through gameplay and each character has one skin that mirrors the movies. The characters sound different, but the voice actors each do an amazing job of bringing real emotion to their respective roles. The writing is just outstanding and is seamless with the characterizations from the movies. It’s its own beast in that the characters have slightly different back stories compared to the movies (and all comic iterations) but that gets its own explanation in-game. So having said all of that, this is a single-player adventure game with very mild RPG elements where your decisions have an impact (similar to the Mass Effect franchise). The gameplay is good and you command the team (you play as Starlord) as well as shoot the baddies personally. While combat CAN be chaotic the end result is that you feel like a genuine badass after fighting the big bads. The soundtrack dovetails beautifully with the gameplay and mirrors the nature of the soundtracks from the movies. TLDR- BUY THIS THING AND PLAY IT!!! It’s a brilliant game and makes you laugh and cry and cheer like nothing else. It’s easily the best game I’ve played in years.

I really enjoyed this one, if you like GOTG and you are a gamer you probably already have this. If not, get it. I never got into the comics but this game pairs with the movie perfectly. The only negative thing I can think of is your team members' comments seem to repeat heavily, but that's about it. I haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs or glitches/crashes. Really well done, quality game with lots of action, a good story and plenty of humor. Lots of fun.
