Relaxing, Addictive, and Full of Variety
I ordered both the black and white versions of this book to compare and was immediately impressed by the sturdy, eye-catching cover and the sheer number of pages to color.Experience & VarietyThis is calming, fun, and just a bit mysterious. The variety is great, and part of the appeal is not knowing what you are creating until the image emerges. Looking at a finished page without the numbers, I would have a hard time guessing the subject before coloring it. Watching subtle shifts in color take shape is surprisingly satisfying.Paper & UsabilityThe paper could be better. Even with a scratch sheet underneath, I had some bleed-through across double pages, although marker choice plays a role. A couple of thick, removable pages at the back would help. My other small knock is the overuse of black fill around the edges. Sometimes it is 25 percent of the image, which means burning through black markers faster than I would like.Relaxation FactorThis is wonderfully relaxing. We took it on a recent cruise and returned to it multiple times, swapping between the black and white versions. Both were equally enjoyable to watch come to life.Value & RecommendationFor the amount of content, this is a great value. The black background makes colors pop, and the binding feels durable enough for long-term use. I would recommend it to anyone, whether you are an avid colorist or just want a peaceful way to pass the time.Bottom LineA perfect pick for unwinding, traveling, or sharing with friends. Just keep an extra black marker handy.

You can’t stop at just one! So much fun and relaxing as well!
This is for 100 Color by Number Mysteries. It gives you a number guide for you to follow, so you can choose your marker or crayon colors in the beginning and then use them throughout the book to uncover gorgeous artwork. I found this so relaxing to do in the evenings, especially after a stressful day at work. I’m using Ohuhu markers, but you could use colored pencils or even crayons. With the Ohuhu markers, I use a sheet of cardstock behind each page so it doesn’t affect the pages underneath as I’m coloring. You could also put a sheet or two of notebook paper as well, but the cardstock works nicely for me. I’m also experimenting with creating Ohuhu marker palette sets and scanning in the pages to recolor them digitally, since I also enjoy using Procreate on my iPad. This is such a relaxing and fun activity for both kids and adults, and it is great to do while I’m watching tv or listening to an audiobook. Highly recommend! I plan to buy the entire set, and if they ever come out with digital PDF’s, I’ll buy those as well — I enjoy this book series so much! Also be sure to sign up online, as the author also provides some sheets you can print out and color from the website as well. Excellent, high quality artwork!

Worth the time and money
I have spent countless hours on this book as I wind down at the end of the night. My tween has even taken to coloring here and there, and I especially appreciate that there's an index at the back so I can give him pages that are more likely to interest him. I do wish there was less solid background on some of the pictures. Row after row after row of one color runs out my markers fast and wears on my patience. I have taken to avoiding the big blocks on the exterior and only coloring enough to frame the subject well. I've tried another in this series and I would recommend this book hands down over the other.

Easy to do
This book is great when you don't want to pick out the colors to use. It is a color by number. The pictures are easy to define once they are completed. I like this coloring book

Enjoyable book overall
This author makes some wonderful mosaics! I’ve done this book and the other one with the bunny on front. I started with glitter pens, but they quickly ran out. Tried color pencils but I really fell in love with the look achieved with alcohol based markers.Of course the color bleeds through the page, it’s not a fault of the author! Alcohol markers are heavily pigmented. A sturdy piece of cardboard will prevent color from transferring to the page below it. I tore the back off of an old spiral notebook and it works just lovely. The author has a great newsletter and website that gives suggestions for colors across popular brands. Even so, sometimes the pictures turned out a little off…but were still pleasant to color. Some of the pictures are beautiful and amazing, and some are just one object on a one or two color background. Which can really drain your markers quickly! Here is a helpful tip: if you are compelled to follow the key exactly, you burn through tons of black markers. Grab a box of black Sharpie brand markers with the fine point. They are super cheap, don’t bleed into the next symbol, and match the black page pretty well. Doing this saved my sanity lol.About halfway through I got tired of all the black backgrounds. I started working on the picture from the center, leaving all of the black spaces blank. Once you are done with the main design, and have filled in shadows (I call them interior zeroes) just go crazy and do whatever with the remaining background!Another fun twist is to choose a picture that has only four or so colors, and replace the colors with a totally different color.

Perfect for alcohol markers and unwinding
These books are so much fun and relaxing. I definitely recommend alcohol markers with these books. The back of all the pages is just a list of colors for the page after that so the fact that alcohol markers bleed through does not matter. It is the perfect night time activity to relax, unwind, and not stare at a screen.

Cute pictures, cheap paper
I love the idea, love the pictures, but it suredoes bleed through. I know in the description it says to out a sheet between, which I did, BUT the color key is on the back side of the previous coloring page and there’s no way to prevent bleed through covering the key so it’s harder to read. I feel like that part wasn’t thought through when marketing this as okay for markers. Knocked one star off since I’m now going to have to take a picture of EVERY color key before I can color any thing more which is annoying. Knocked another start off because the paper feels like very cheap coloring book paper, like the dollar store or children’s style coloring books.

Lovely calming book
The black backgrounds are nice. I love this palette page, and especially love that I can swatch different media onto it.

Very nice
Really good and fun to paint like this. One bad thing is that it can be hard to see what colour you should use because the black is getting through the page

Kurz gesagt: KLARE KAUFEMPFEHLUNG!
