WiseFinger White - Smartphone Holder & Stand

I don't write product reviews all that often but decided that it was definitely worth 5 minutes of my time to review this one. I happened to run across this while looking for a replacement stand for my wife's white iPhone 4S. She had received a little suction-cup stand as a Christmas gift from one of her friends, but lost it about a month ago. She had made good use of it (when we/she needed to distract our young son from time to time). It worked reasonably well, but because it was a separate thing that she had to carry around in her purse, she wouldn't always have it and the suction cup didn't always work reliably. When I started browsing for a replacement, this one stood out right away. I wasn't entirely sure how the ring/holder would work, but the stand functionality seemed solid and I thought the way it folded up was kinda cool. When it arrived and I gave it to my wife, she didn't really know what to make of it at first. But once I explained it to her and she tried it out, she thought it was really neat too. She uses it all the time now when she's on the phone and it works really well as a stand too. It's only been a few weeks, but she's already had several strangers asking her about it. It's sort of become the de facto topic of conversation whenever we have dinner with friends these days. If you're looking for a slightly-out-of-the-ordinary-but-very-functional-stand+holder for you phone, I would highly recommend this.

I attached this to my Otter case. I liked the combined holder and kickstand ability. There are some drawbacks. The loops are plastic and small for a man's fingers. You get your fingers stuck past the knuckles if they go too deep in. Also, the loops are thin enough that they seem to be easy to break. I think this is true because for my purchase it came with replacement loops. Last drawback is that the sticky backing does come off. I put Gorilla glue on mine. Beyond those misgivings there is nothing I found out there that can be an ajustable handhold and a kickstand in one. - follow up - all 3 that I bough as gifts for family and mine had the rings break. I returned for money back bought the velcro version of this.

My screw fell out after a month. It was pretty good for a while. I never had a problem with sticking - but I have a smooth case.

I like the idea behind this, but my arthritis prevents my finger from fitting properly. the holder didn't stick as well as I had hoped. That could be from the pressure or pull I put on it, due to the fit.

This product is not what I expected. It did not stay on the back of the phone.

This gadget looks great but one of the rings broke off after only a few uses. It's very cheaply made and definitely not worth the money.

The worst quality

In fact, I just ordered my second set. To respond to the negative review -- yes, the little plastic rings will break. After 6 months of constant use, many hours per day, one of them just broke. I'll simply replace it with one of the two replacements when I get home, but I love this little gadget so much, I didn't want to risk being without it ever again, so I ordered a back-up set immediately.My iPhone 4 is my primary connection to the internet -- I text, look things up, play games, and read on it. Before wise fingers I would get cramps in my hand from gripping the phone. Now I can just slip my finger through and let it hang -- no grip required. The only time I have had any problem with it slipping off the phone was in very dusty conditions, otherwise it is very solid -- and if it does begin to slip it just takes a quick rinse to make it adhere. The surface isn't sticky and it isn't suction; I don't know how it works, but it works very well under most conditions. If you find it in any way uncomfortable to hold your phone (and presumably other devices, but I don't know about that), this will help immensely.Additional comment: June 13, 2013. The item came within 24 hours of being ordered! And to my delight, the replacement loops with the new set are made out of METAL not plastic. So SmartX has listened to the comments!!! I expect these will last even longer than the original. (To be clear, the loops in the original packaging were still plastic, but the additional replacement ones had been changed to metal. It is easy to change the plastic loops out for the metal ones -- just pull out the plastic ones and insert the metal ones) I am VERY happy.
