I almost kicked this review down to a 4 star for the following reason. As someone who has never messed around with ginseng before, I simple tried to follow the limited suggestion on the packaging for tea. It says, "Brew 8 slices of ginseng in hot water for 5 minutes....etc" Okay, so just before work the other day, I attempted to do just that for the first time ever....FAIL! What SB Organics does not tell you on the package is that the root is similar to petrified mammoth tusk, and in the state it is shipped you would literally need a jack hammer to CHIP, not slice pieces off of the root itself. As luck would have it, I have a brain, and figured out how to solve this problem. After washing the roots a little, I soaked several of them in cold water overnight. In the morning the roots were soft enough to cut thin slices off of for the tea application, and worked perfectly. I keep the soaked roots that I don't use in a ziploc bag in the fridge. As my soaked supply gets low, I simply repeat the process. My point is....SB Organics....would it break your advertising budget to put those directions on the package!? The product itself, once I learned how to return it from it's Jurassic state, is excellent. I brew my tea each morning now and consume the ginseng itself when I get to the bottom. I also put nothing in the tea whatsoever....just water and ginseng. It has a very subtle bitter/earthy flavor, that's pleasant in my opinion. I have been consuming this product for a little over a week now and feel like I've had a little more energy, been sleeping better, and don't feel quite as wound up at the end of a work day....all described potential effects of taking ginseng. I got this product to help with cholesterol and blood sugars that were a bit high on my last check up, so I will do a comparison at my next 6 month check up. Right now I'm just enjoying the tea each morning, as it's a pleasant way to start the day. The other positive side effects are icing on the cake. Once you're armed with how to process the product itself, this is the real deal in my opinion.

i don't know anything about ginseng but the roots are cut and it was hardly cleaned says a lot and not but later i felt a little increase in mostly everything would be a way to describe it

We have purchased this Ginseng product in 2018 and had no problems. The product was of good quality and was packaged as noted on the Amazon website. This time (2019) we ordered two 16 oz. bags of ginseng, each bag of which was noted to contain four 4 oz. bags of ginseng. The first time we received the order there were two 16 oz. bags of ginseng delivered. But there were not four 4 oz. bags of ginseng in each 16 oz. package. Each 16 oz. package was full of loose ginseng. Amazon re-ordered the ginseng again. Once again the same problem. We wanted 4 oz. bags of ginseng so that we could bring them to family members in China. We ordered the 16 oz. packages to save money. Amazon told us we would get a complete refund, and to try another provider.
